Bobbin thread pulls to the top with all but Brother brand
Your machine was designed to work with the Brother brand of bobbin thread. Any other thread will cause tension issues. If you want you machine to work with another brand of bobbin thread I suggest purchasing an additional bobbin case and have it calibrated for use with the other brand of thread.
Brother 700e
Try these suggestions
1. Change needle
2. Rethread the machine--top --make sure to use every thread guide
3. Take the bobbin out --make sure it is inserted correctly into the bobbin
Case, & make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way
4. make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
5. Clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or threads
Error Message This embroidery card cannot be used with this machine
Is it a pre-loaded card - or one you add patterns to?If its one you add patterns to, make sure the pattern isn't too large for the machine. EG if machine does 4"x4" and you've loaded a 5"x7" pattern, try down-sizing the pattern/ breaking it up into smaller sections to load & sew
Sewing machine
rethread the machine & see if the thread is caught anywhereif that doen't help turn the machine off for a few seconds & the turn it back on to see if that will clear it.
"Lower presser foot" error on SE 270D
This happened to me and I eventually realized that there is a small door flap at the top near the "4" in the threading series that can get stuck open. Normally this flap goes up and down with the presser foot, but if it gets stuck open even when the presser foot is down, tapping it or closing it manually will make the error go away.
I have a Brother BC2100
I might have the same problem and I think is due to the fact that the needle is too close to the foot so the adjusting of the tension does no influence.

Google "BriTon Leap" for solutions for using your iMac. They have programs called Embrilliance, which works with iMac
When i sew shirt sleeves on there always tight in
is this a fitting problem with the pattern? or do you mean that the seam is pulling up?If the sleeve pattern is too small, then you may need to alter it.There are lots of books on altering to fit you, Palmer Pletch write several and you should be able to find these in the library. But put simply, you need to add some more fabric in to the back of the sleeve if its too tight in the top of the shoulder and the easiest way is usually to "slash and spread " the pattern piece, then paste this new shape down over a sheet of paper and remark the outside cutting edge. Remember, if you add in an inch in the back of the sleeve piece, you will need to add an equal or similar amount into the back of the shoulder where the sleeve fits in to match.
Bottom thread is looping.
If the thread is looping on the bottom, then your problem is on the top. Pull the thread out of the needle and and put the presser foot down. If the thread pulls thru easily, then you need to rethread your machine making sure the thread is thru the top tension wheel correctly.
Rule of thumb::
Loops on the bottom, Problem on the top
Loops on the top, problem on the bottom.
