One of the sticks is probably defected when it runs with the other one. I would move them around slots to see if you can't get them both working.

make sure metal tower is firmely tight on the black chip on mother board with braket tightley clamed on it.and also check fan make sure thats tight on mother board.

one bad/faulty lead can cause a computer with lots of problems continually rebooting or failing to detect your drive
replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

I think you should make sure first that the video you're downloading is already finish before you open it with your media player or maybe because your media player doesnt support the file type that you have downloaded, try downloading this media VLC Player, it could play almost all media type of file, just search it into google or type VLC Player Download it will output some websites to dwonload this player, then install it use it to play the video file that you have finish downloading. Go to the manufacture's website and download this driver. Please know what is model & the manufacturer of the ethernet card before downloading. To know this, go to the device manager. Follow the step below.
STEP: 1. Right click My Computer
2. Click Properties, Hardware, Device Manager
3. Double click Network Adapters, after that, the manufactures and model on the ethernet card will display.
