Thanks for using FixYa. Red status light that is on means the toner life ended. You’ll need to replace the toner cartridge with a new one. To see how to replace the toner cartridge, click here. Also it could be the cartridge position error, you need the drum unit assembly is not installed correctly. Take the drum unit out of the machine and put it back in.

PRINTER HL5240 NO PRINT TONER LIGHT ON

Yes, the guide at the rear for paper length needs to be set right at the arrow leaving 1/8 inch free space, also if the tray has gears on the side to lift the paper the gear on the bottom with a flat space needs to be level when on a table, if not the lifting arm is bent and needs to be straightened.

Is it making any noise? Mine was making a popping sound and I took the tray out, unlocked the back paper length guide and gave the paper a little more room. (be sure to put it in the locked position when you are done). That appears to have fixed the problem for now.

Take the drum/toner out and with the front cover open press the blue 'go' button once, then put the drum/toner back in and press the button once again, then close the cover.

should reset the toner for you

Out with the old and in with the new, you remove the toner and drum together, remove the toner from the old drum by pressing the blue lever on the side, install the toner in the new drum, and re install in the printer. With the front door open press the go button til all lights flash and then close the door, the new drum is reset.

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Make sure the printer cartridge is not punctured or damaged. You can check this by taking out the cartride and look for ink spilled on it.

It means that its white paper sensor is already dead. Have the white paper sensor replaced by the manufacturer.

Hi,
Unplug the Printer and again Turn it back ON after few minutes. A Solid Red Light Status means that, more than often it is for Paper Jam.

turn off the printer and cacel all the documents from print spooler .and switch on it.

When I went to My Page on your site, running along the lefthand side were problems similar to mine and how they had been solved. I used the suggestion of looking for a "hidden" paper jam in the back of my printer and that indeed was the problem. Very grateful for such a quick and easy solution! Thanks.

Uninstall and reinstall the printer software so it will be loaded like a new device to your computer , because this can be a problem with the printer software that is on your computer now..........

The problem sounds like the rear paper guide of the paper tray is too tight aginst the paper. Back the guide off about 1/16 of an inch and see if that helps. You may also want to check and make sure the tray is set for the correct paper size of the paper you are using. Good luck!
