Hello, I have bought a house with a Hotpoint

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

(extract from my filter and motor guidance pre-typed notes!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel LHS or RHS (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

Manual-
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!

Good luck with both!

Bearings can be changed but can be awkward to do. Expect about 2 hours labour and a bearing kit which costs about 35-40 pounds. Would advise getting a professional to do this

Hi there, my washing machine

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is normally behind the front lower (kick) panel and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

You will need to go on-line. Type into your search engine 'hotpoint washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay.
You will obviously be asked for the particular model- WF430- at some point!

Good luck,

Hi, i have a wf310 hotpoint washing m/c and the

If you are a competent DIY person, then it is possible for you to do it,however, it does involve a complete stripdown, and complete removeal of inner and outer drum from cabinet.
There is also the possibility that you may have to replace the drum shaft if it is worn to any extent.
Could prove to be expensive.
If it is more than 5 years old, then I would seriouly consider replacing the washer.

Washing machine not rinsing and spinning

I would suggest that you check and clean the pump filter.
This is to be found by removing the lower panel of washer, then remove the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Hotpoint WF430 Noisy on Spin Cycle

Hi.

It could be loose balance weight, or worn drum bearings.
Remove belt and spin drum by hand from the inside, if you can hear a rumbling noise, or any noise, or it feels stiff to turn then the bearings have failed
If it is under 5 years old, then it should still be under warrenty provided you did not buy it from Comet or Currys.
If it is balance weight, you will be able to feel movement, there is one at top and one at bottom of m/c.

Flashing indicator lights

Truthfully it isnt a good sign. Not sure if yours has a reset fascility or not. If it does, reset it....If not, just use it untill it stops working. Make sure when it is running you take note of what is happening like is the water comming in: is the unit washing correctly: does the drain pump operate correctly:does the spin work correctly.(Rectify when problem area is found.)

Hi I am looking for the filter that collects

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} The filter is inside the machine, for the 420model. Turn off the power and pull out the machine to get to the rear. Pull out the hose you see going into the wall pipe, lay at floor level or plastic bag to drain out remaining water in machine. Remove the panel at the bottom (2 screws) where the discharge hose comes out. You should see a black concertina type tube coming from below the drum attached by a jubilee clip. The filter is inside. Loosen the clip and pull away the tube, take out the filter and clean it. When you replace it don't forget to put the ball float back in (exactly as you found it) and check it’s well fixed by running a spin cycle before sealing up. Caution, the exit drain hose shd be fitted at the exact location where you found it, abt three feet up from ground level.

Pl rate me nice for the free help, thnks.

How does the wf430 hotpoint washing machine drain

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Not too sure what you mean but will try to explain. The water in the tub is only kept there because one end of the outlet hose is higher than the tub and the job of the pump is to push the water up the hose and out. If the outlet hose is lower than the tub, all the water inside will just flow out, the pump does not hold the water in the machine it only assists in its removal. If you remove the pump from the machine altogether then the water will just flow onto the floor but if you disconnect the pump from the wiring circuit it will just mean you have no mechanical way of emptying the tub. However if you lower the hose to the ground then by the force of gravity the water will flow out. Just one other point, the hose should come out of the machine and rise up the back of the cabinet then loop down again where it fits into a stand pipe or is connected to a waste pipe, if however the end of the hose is lower than the tub you will get a siphoning effect happen after the first pump out in which case the water from the machine will just empty on its own without the aid of the pump. 2 flashing lights on washing machine and flashing

I think you need to clean pump filter, if not at front, then remove lower rear panel of washer, locate and remove large black hose on drum ,remove and clean filter inside, remove hose onto pump and check for obstruction there as well.
the problem is the pump is blocked. What you have to do if your a bit handy is to turn off the power from the plug socket, pull out the machine and take off the back panel, then when you look iside you will see a big black rubber fitting at the base of the mashine attached to a white plastic pump and inturn to your outlet pipe. you have to disconnect the big black one from the top, there is a metal clip which you have to unscrew and it will fall down. inside this is a plastic ball and something which looks like a shuttle crock , take this out and clean everything, lastly put everything back together and put on a quick rinse cycle.
-----
also try this as follows:---
Clean out lower filter at rear of drum behind white cover plate which sits between the rubber drum outlet and drain pump .and check out.if still the same problem then
remove pressure switch at back of powder drawer and the clear tube along with the larger white tube near lower filter, you will find minor debris in white tube. Clear tube and check if any blockage, blew into pressure switch to check function if its ok. then there may be jammed open circuit and blowing will help, check switch function with multimeter and if it seems less then require a fair blow to get to register closed circuit so adjust screw on front of switch to reduce required pressure, refitt offending switch and check out.mosstly it will solve your problem.
for any required parts you can get it from www.repairclinic.com
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
