After being away for a
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Now- it could have water seeping inside after a few weeks so-
2 things- first follow my guidance notes on how to clean the filter, which would show you how best to remove the water which MAY be inside. After that one of the water valves might not be closing completely causing the water to slowly drip/pour in so see my Water valve notes near the bottom.
Filter
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
Water valve
This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning (not closing completely) water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Take all power off the washer then turn one or the other off and see which one is causing the problem. Sorry but it needs replacing. If it only happens when there is power supplied to the washer, a service call is required to confirm that it is not something else- like the control board not feeding the correct voltage to the valve ;-0(
If these have assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

WHAT DOES F 02 FAULT MEAN ON THE AQUARIUS W740
"F02 = Motor jammed or tacho detached".
Check the motor hasn't jammed up somehow, or that the small tacho coil (the thing that detects the speed of the motor) on the end of the motor hasn't dropped off (tip the machine back and it's in between the brushes - it should be held in place with a clip. If it's hanging loose it's the fault)
This fault code basically means the PCB cannot detect any impulses from the tacho coil on the motor, so the main implication is that the motor is just not running. However, because other fault codes cover most of the other motor faults, the PCB thinks the motor may be physically jammed. That is, as far as the PCB is concerned, it is supplying the motor with power, but it can't detect the motor is running.

Hotpoint Aquarius WF 240 Front loader
first remove the soap drawer, this should expose locating holes for screws, remove these first, then remove the screws from on top of the plastic front panel and then the plastic front panel tilts forward to remove, taking extra care with wires etc
the soap drawer is now loose still attached to the rubber pipe, which is now easy to get to for inspection, or removal to clear it out.
first of all just check that the machine drum is not filling up totally so it is overflowing back out of the soap drawer, if so that is a different fault entirely and does not need taking to bits the same

Hotpoint aquarius wf541. leak's water when
Hi
This is either the large pipe that connects from the bottom of the outer drum, to the suds pump inlet, or the pump bodies itself, or the seal inside the pump. This may be tricky to work out where the leak is coming from, but just use a good torch, with the back removed, and watch it through a short cycle. If it is a plastic pump, they usually have small screws holding the 2 parts of the pump body together. Try tightening these, if they are loose. Also if the machine is over 8 years old and has had a lot of use, it will most likely be the pump seal.
Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Apart from the cover at the base. How do I access
The front panel comes off. 1st you need to remove the Facia to access the 3 screws...Leak could be door boot seal noise sounds like drum bearings/ if its under 5 years old phone Hotpoint it will cost around £100 for call, parts are free.....If over 5 yaers think new machine as its quite expensive to do full job and not always worth it if old........

Displaying f5 not spining or draining
F05 means pressure switch jammed on full.
Remove lower rear cover of washer.
Locate and remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean plastic filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.
This will solve the problem.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Need to know if the problem is the pump or before it reaches it
Remove lower rear panel of m/c, remove the 2 hoses on the pump, disconnect the electric feed to the pump, and depending on how the pump is secured to the base, remove pump.
Connect a 240V supply directly to the pump, it does not matter which way you connect live and neutral as they are both common.to the pump.
Switch on and the pump should run, if you want to test it with water in, remember it is gravity fed, and you are dealing with 240 Volts .BE CAREFUL.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks

Fills washes rinses but wont spin properly or empty out
its likely the pump is blocked (hence the humming) with a coin or some foreign object. To check, lower the outlet hose to ground level to allow the water to empty. Tip machine back & lean against a wall, remove the pump & remove object if there is one! Reassemble & try machine again
