clean the glass inner door @ the bottom. one strand of hair can cause it to leak. if that wont work inspect the bellows (door seal)

THERE SHOULD BE A SMALL DOOR ON FRONT LOWER FRONT OF MACHINE OPEN DOOR AND FILTER IS RIGHT THERE!!!! IF NOT IN FRONT CHECK ALL SIDES..

There is likely to be a problem with either the door solenoid/lock or the 'door closed' sensor requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest. Sorry ;-0(

please check the outlet hose of the detergent drawer. it could be clogged with soap.

sounds like the door gasket is leaking and needs replaced.

Page 11 of the manual states that tha maximum load is 5.5Kg cotton

Recommended load for synthetics is 3Kg

There is a few things what you must check for this problem:
- Make sure the water is open at the tap
- Make sure the Inlet hose is not kinked, if it is, please straighten it
- If the above two are unsuccesfull, then you may have either a faulty solenoid valve, or a faulty PC Board.

Solenoid Valve:

- Open the Top of the machine, cover usually fastened by screws at the back. Once removed, you can follow the inlet valve, and inside connected to it is a solenoid water valve with 2 wires attached to it. Will look like this:



Once located attach direct power to it, and see if it opens and closes (Lets water through ON, and stops water OFF) If faulty - replace.

PC Board

If the Inlet Valve is testing correct, then attach the normal wires as it was, and use a multimeter to test power to it from the PC Board, do this when the machine is turned on - If no power is sent to the solenoid, then the PC Board is faulty.

on this machine i would check motor wires and motor itself ie motor brushes

This has to be the pick up for the fast spin as any other would disable the motor.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging.

The carbon brushes on the motor are most likely worn out. They can be replaced quite cheaply.

Re your problem with Hotpoint washer.
You say brushes are free, but make sure they are not worn down too much, replace them if they are less than 3-5mm long.
Also check the leads in the motor plug for loose or broken wires, the wires often break at the motor plug, so pull each one individually for sound connection and check the motor plug leads back to the control module as they can sometimes wear or break
If it still does not work, then it can only be the motor itself, or possibly the control module at the top front of washer.
If you need to check the module, look for blown track on printed circuit board.
