Hotpoint WD860 for F-13 solutions

It is a tricky job but the heater thermostat switch has tripped as it senses something burning. Probably a little bit of fluff on the heater element inside the heater unit.. There are 2 switches on top of this heater unit. One where the 2 blue wires goon the top left of the 3rd picture and the other which has a tall black wire connector on shown in the middle of the 3rd picture. Remove that connector and undo the holding screw . You can then reset the switch. The switch is a small circular switch hidden beneather the connector on the photos. This thermostat switch has a yellow. red dot ontop of it. If you use a small pin or needle and press into that dot you will hear it tick back into place. you have reset the switch now. You will probably need to clean the inside of the heater element unit to get rid of the fluff particles or it will keep switching off. To take this apart you will need a set of Star screwdrivers. Its a bit tricky but you will be able to undo the star screws and take them all out. I will add some photos to show you the unit apart. You can see the build up of fluff on the photos i have added from my hotpoint WD860 heater unit. This is a tricky job and takes about an hour due to the screw being awkward to take off and put on again but mine hasnt faulted for 2 years since sorting it out. You can buy a new Thermostat switch which is about 10 pounds sterling from Hotpoint or other be91b32f-a289-4249-a4d0-499e2094e901.jpg 95adeccb-a83d-4edc-99a4-f08bf4669b6c.jpg 8af03867-1caf-4748-adb6-379e0dca1507.jpg fd076e29-d1d9-414a-8a0d-c18654b08aab.jpg ab17c040-2aaf-46c0-b85b-42e5d4817547.jpg cdb28245-18ee-4848-a36d-4442ca167988.jpg 7519e7ee-6f39-4388-bec5-585c0a700bac.jpg f6a153c9-ad70-4e8b-a3b1-b7570b07311c.jpg

THIS MESSAGE COMES UP ON THE DISPLAY

See my other reply to your request. It took me less than 2 secs on a search of your listed model to find a manual. One thing it says in the troubleshooting section is that if it fails to start with something showing on the display is to press and hold the start button for at least 3 seconds and the machine should start. This message comes up on the display how do i remove it please

Where is your user handbook? If you don't have one go online to the OEM who have most current models available for free download. If not get the model and serial number and search online. Call a local appliance agent for your brand, if they have a repair facility they may have a man who know's?

Wd640p combination dryer

Same happened me - the drier heater circuit has a safety cut-out (160°C, Red Spot) which does not reset, the component must be replaced. It is not a simple DIY task as it is fitted from the INSIDE of the air heater duct.

In my case, there were signs of burnt fluff in the duct. I suspect that fluff was sucked into the duct by the fan, dried out, burned and tripped the safety cut-out.
