This just happened to my hotpoint washing machine, I realise it has been a long time since this has been asked but since my answer is different from the others I thought I'd add it anyway in the hope it will be useful to someone one day. The fix was super easy, all that was wrong was the plastic knob itself, which had broken internally. I only found this out after taking the top and front covers off, which is an easy enough procedure, I did it this way: unplugged the washing machine, removed two screws from back of machine that hold top cover in place, then using a putty knife pushed between the top and front covers front to back right at the corners, thus releasing the top cover, once this was out I could unclip the front cover and get to the screws that hold the control board to the front cover. I unplugged the electrical connection to the board, removed all the screws and unclipped it from its plastic cover. At this point I could see the plastic knob had broken, I recovered the broken bit and glued it back on. After the glue dried, I just put everything back in place reverting the previous actions. Hope this helps. If you don't have glue or can't find the broken piece, you should be able to just buy another plastic knob off the internet.

You can't "Reset it" as such, you need to fix the fault. Is this the F11 issue you reported before, or another problem?

F11 is a pump fault. Probably a blockage in the sump. From what I recall, there is no access to the pump at the front of the machine on this model, but if you go to the back nd remove the panal at the bottom, you will see the rubber sump that hangs from the bottom of the drum. It is usually held on by either a large jobilee clip or a squeeze clip. Undo this and pull off the sump. Inside you will find what looks like a basketball hoop woth a ping pong ball in it (It's a water save device)> Chances are that this is blocked with debris. Clean it out and reassemble and all will be well.

Your washer smells moldy because there is mold growing in it somewhere. To kill the mold and clean the inside of your washer do a hot water wash using no clothes but adding two cups of bleach to the machine. It will also smell better then.

As you know, the door is locked while the machine is working. The most likely cause of your problem is that the 'interlock' has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced. The problem is to get the door open. Try to remember which way the latch hooks into the interlock. It may be that a flexible kitchen knife slid behind the door can release the doorlock, or a length of thin strong string passed around the door and pulled towards the hinge side will release the latch. N.B. Be careful not to damage the seal....! If these actions don't work it would be best to call a technician to release the interlock from the inside of the machine and replace the interlock, which can be a slightly complicated job.. Brushes are mounted on the motor at the opposite to the belt pulley. A bit fiddly to get at but can be removed without removing the motor itself. sounds like the water pressure switch is misreading the water level cycle and refilling and washing over and over? or u could have a bad control board?

Is the door fully closed or has some debris got into the mechanism.is the child lick on?try resetting the machine by switching off power at socket, then whilst holding the start button for five seconds whilst you switch it back on at socket.door solenoid should cluck once and the key sign should disappear.hope this is of help.

Hi. The most common reason for your problem is because the door interlock is faulty. The interlock (see below) is what prevents the door from opening during operation It probably needs to be replaced. Good luck. Nomess
