WD440 Hotpoint Aquarius Rattle
Hi man - heres the fix if ever your WD440 stops and wont spin - and the off/on light flashes along with a couple of other lights like crease free etc etc.
Basically take off the bottom part of the back of the machine, its plastic - about a one foot by half a foot rectangle.
Oh yeah - plug it out :)
Look in the machine - you'll see a large jubelee clip or hose clip, google these for pictures if your unsure what they look like.
It will be connected to a wide - teenager size fist - black hose.
unscrewing the jubelee clip will losen this off.
pull the black rubber hose down to disconnect from the drum.
Get the mop - there will be a flood.
look inside the black hose, there will be a beutiful bounty in it - in my case I got 1 Euro 28 cents in a vast array of coins, a piece of sticky tape and a hair clip, which is ironic as I am bald.
fix the black thing back to the drum, retighten the jubelee clip, fix the plasic shell back onto the back of the machine... plug machine back in... push machine back into position.... taking care not to slip on wet floor.
approx fix time... 2 hrs to google for this solution, and then 5 mins fixing machine - 40 mins mopping floor.
A VERY EASY FIX.
all the best

How do you service the
Remove rear cover of washer, locate and remove large black hose from drum to check and clean filter inside.
The pumps themselves are not a serviceable item, so if faulty, replace it.

I need to put the
The belt will be tight , as it is non adjustable, although it may seem too small, it is the correct belt.
Best way to do it is to remove the top cover and lower rear panel of washer, with someone to help you, tilt the washer forwards , and put the belt round the motor pulley first, and slowly feed it round the drum pulley turning the pulley at the same time, it will be very tight, so watch your fingers, if it slips off, just try again until you get it on, It will FIT!!!!

H20 indicates a problem with water supply.
Check the inlet hose/s for restrriction or kinks, ensure water supply pressure is o/k, also check the filter screens in the inlet valves, you will have to turn the water off to do this.

Hotpoint WT540 has electrical power
There a couple of possibilities here.
First thing to do is to remove the motor and check the brushes for wear, replace if less than 4 or 5 mm long
If this does not solve the problem, then it is more than likely to be a faulty display /control board.

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that the issue is with control going bad however, before replacing the control try to reset it. To reset it you'll have to press and hold the TEMP and OPTION button for 10-15 seconds. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
Thanks

You will find the filter located inside the large black hose on the bottom of drum, just remove hose to clean filter.

The door wont open
If it is digital which most new models are, you will see that after a spin cycle is completed it will take just a few minutes or so to release the safety, or some models you can go ahead and push the stop button and it will release

If you are inside the warranty time, don't do anything or break any seals. Instead report your dealer about the same. Else you can ask a company man or local professional to repair your units board.
