Hotpoint Aquarius WD63 Front Load Washer/Dryer - Page 4 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have purchased a hotpoint aquarius 1000 washing
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I think the best thing for you to do is to obtain a manual which should not only give you the answer to this but also any future queries which are bound to occur.
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number!
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct.Good luck,
John C.

Water still in the drum,
put the washer in drain/spin cycle and check to see if pump tries to come on. put hand on top of pump to feel for vibrations. If pump comes on but doesn't pump out you either have a bad pump or a blockage some where.

My aquarius wt540 wont pump out water, i assumed
Sonething is stuck in the filter, which is preventing it from pulling out, if all else fails, then you need to remove the complete punp, and take it apart to clear the obstruction.

How to remove top panel and front facia on a Hotpoint Aquarius WDF451 washing machine
Un plug it. There should be small screws either at the bottom of the panel on the front or there is separate panel that comes off the top back. If the back is one solid piece top to bottom, then the control panel lifts out and hinges up when the two small cross tip screws are removed from the bottom outside corners of the control panel..

The dryer is blowing cold
Find your thermal protection switch. It looks like a big round button with two screws holding it on either side. (Make sure your drier is unplugged!) There will be a wire going from it to the heating element. It is what regulates the temperature, so it doesn't overheat. Unplug the wires off it and check across the terminals with an ohm meter. It should have full continuity. If not, it's your problem. Replace it. Easy repair.

The water heater on my hotpoint aquarius wd440
I trust this is the water heater you are referring to...There is a large nut 10mm in the centre of it this has to be tight, this in turn will Expand the rubber water seal and in effect stop any leaks...God luck

How do we stop washing being really wet after
I would first of all check the filter.
Remove the rear panel of washer.
Remove large black hose connected to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean plastic filter inside hose.
Reassemble and test.
If it still does not spin properly, then I would suggest you check the brushes in the motor.
Remove top covedr, and locate motor on top right of washerYou will see the brush holders at the end of the motor.
Also make sure you have selected the correct spin speed.

Machine runs wash cycle but fails to drain and
Hi, The washer will fail to spin if there is too much water in the machine, check the filter on the machine is not clogged or blocked if it's not then the pump could be suspect, normally you can hear it running on the spin cycle. it could also be the motor brushes are worn.
if its none of the above I would suggest that it maybe the pressure switch or pressure switch tube blocked other than that the last resort is the programmer or motor control panel.
Hope this helps.

Water does not drain after
Hi,
Although I don't know your particular machine, if you haven't already done so check the drain motor lint tray/filter- it could be blocked.
It is normally found in most machines behind the lower front cover.
REMOVE POWER FROM THE MACHINE AND HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE AND /OR RAGS AT CLOSE HAND!
The filter is behind a round panel/knob which should turn anticlockwise- this is when the water is likely to appear! The filter may come out with the cover or remain in its housing. Should just pull out for cleaning.
Hope this cures the problem, if not it could be the drain pump itself malfunctioning. That would be another step.
Cheers,
John C

Where do I find the filter on my Hotpoint Aquarius
Both the Hotpoint WD63 (wash dryer) and the Hotpoint WM22 (washing machine) have a drain filter in the sump hose at the bottom of the tank.
This filter is a last line protection for the pump and is not designed to be cleaned on regular intervals by the user.

What stops the drive belt
Hi, The belt is held to the motor by a series of grooves and then around the big pulley. If everything is in alignment, the belt stays centered on the pulley. If the pulley becomes loose or the bearing shaft it rides on go bad, the belt will not stay on and it needs to be seriviced. Hope this helps.

How do i test my dryer fan motor
Connect it to a power source after unplugging the connector? Is the fan freely rotating and have you checked the windings for continuity with a test meter? If it passes those tests its probably ok unless it has shorted turns on the windings, which is why the final test should be to connect it independently and see if it runs.
A better way of doing things would be to monitor the voltage across the motor connectors with a test meter when it is supposed to be running. If it has volts but does not run then it is faulty. BE CAREFUL AS IT IS HIGH VOLTAGE SO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T TOUCH ANY LIVE PARTS AND ANY CONNECTIONS ARE INSULATED

HOW TO ACCESS THE DRUM
If you remove the complete rear cover, and the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum, you can get your fingers in the aperature where the the heater is, and hopefully locate the object in question, if you cannot , then it will probably find it's way into the filter located in the large black hose previously removed.
