try this strip ur phone complety and clean it with a old toothbrush, leave it for 15 mins and put it back 2 gether again

You will need have the phone unlock by taking the phone to a mobile store and have it unlock.

try cleaning the contacts on the phone also make sure the charger is properly connected if that don't work you may have to check the connection inside the phone it may need soldering. had a similar problem.

How are you trying to connect your phone to computer?
Blutooth/cable/infrared?

I use Bluetooth which makes it easier without cables!
Start bluetooth on your phone and pc. Browse to the picture you want to send from your phone, choose send, via bluetooth and your computer should be in the list, choose that and voila, your computer start reciving.

GC - the phone needs to be dismantle and then placed back together to make it work...so take it to a mobile service center to have that done.


MTEXX - the phones firmware need to be reflash on the phone to correct this issue.

i finally figured it out! I have had the same problem. here is what to do. Make a phone-call, or when you answer a phone-call while connected press the arrow pointing to the right it will make the volume go up. I do not know why they do not publish this in their manual it took me months before I found this out.

Call up your service provider and they will guide you to configure your sms center number so you can send text messages over their network.. =)

Try doing a master reset first on your phone, it could be that the settings for sending messages is different from your previous sim card....

Check for message settings... and look for an SMS center number... once you found that option on your phone, contact your service provider for the correct SMS center number.. =)

Probably you have low memory on your phone, or the file that you are transferring is not supported by your phone..

Try to transfer another file or free up some space first.. if these would not work... last resort will be a master reset.. refer to your user's manual for master reset..

Ah! My friend. you are lucky that you ask the right person. I have fixed so many V551 with LCD defect so this symtom is usual on v551 and most Motorola Flip phones. As you know, the construction of the LCD cable has been designed by a long ellectric thin wire and one side will connect into the main and CallerID smaller LCD and the other end will connect to the main board and the part in the middle will stuck inside the hinge where the flip will apply a lot of force for the function of open and close. for a long period of usage, it will either worn out the middle part of the cable or loose the connection of either side which cause loosing display. That is why you can call and receive but cannot see anything. The simple thing is open the case and check first at the main board side for any bad contact and tougher the other side is inside the main LCD. If you find both side are still good in connection then the middle part is bad due to flipping so many time of the user in order to open and close. YOU THEN NEED TO REPLACE THE NEW LCD.
