Keeps overheating plug
Plug will only overheat if you have a loose connection of some type.
Check the connections in the plug - the wires must be tightly connected to the pins and must not be screwed down onto the cable insulation. Check the fuse carrier in the plug - make sure it holds both ends of the fuse securely. Also check the fuse carrier components are securely fixed (usually with a screw or a rivet) to the pins of the plug.
If it still overheats the bad connection could be due to a bad wiring connection to the socket it is plugged into or even a bad component within the socket itself. Components in the socket are not repairable - Replace with new.
Motor?
The problem could be with your pressure switch. Click for help on this site regarding change/check of hose connected with pressure switch. Enter your brand and model number of machine.
How do I remove the motor on a Hotpoint WMA44?
To remove motor.From under the machine, unplug the wiring connector from the motor socket. Remove the push on earthing cable from rear of motor. Remove the two bolts from the motor via the rear panel of the machine. The whole of the motor motor needs to be pushed backwards to disengage the three mounting pegs from their plastic sleeves. I used a wide bladed screwdriver to lever the motor from its mounting position at each of the three pegs. The motor will come away from the washing machine but don't let it drop, support it. Remember it is small but for its size it is heavy! Good luck
Cannot separate plastic tub from the metal drum
this is rust from brearings and it can be a bit of a sod to get bearings out sometimes the breaings get stuck on the drum shaft due to rust and a new shaft will be needed if drum and shaft are out put wd40 on breaings and let soak then try to knock them out if the breaing breaks in the drum then a new drum will be needed if that happens i would bye new machine as some machines are cheeper then all the parts needed to fix

On this washer the problem is the washer drum rear bearing is worn out, a common problem and often caused by not using the correct detergent for a front loader, detergent is very corrosive, so special types are used in front loads to prevent soap residue corroding the drum bearing. Once the bearing go out then the struts that cushion the drum during the spin quickly follow.
Can move the drum as
If you have necessary tools to remove & fix the bearings you too can do it. The only problem lies is alignment of the bearings. There are two bearings involved. If any one is not aligned with the another one, you will need new bearings again in a span of 3 to 6 months. To carry out this work you will need spanners, hammer, wrenches. The persons who have carried out mechanical jobs can do it easily. After fitting the bearings the drum should have free movement when rotated by hand. It should not stop abruptly, but slowly.

(no promises but it's worth carrying this out anyway!)
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

Door lock light flashes and machine won't
There may be a fault on the control board. I have had instances of PCB tracks burning out on Hotpoint machines. This is not something you can fix unless you have some electronics experience (unless you replace the whole control board).

The powder drawer is leaking water. Any ideas

I would suspect that it MIGHT be blocked up- possibly by a mixture of powder and softener/conditioner as this is quite a common reported problem.
Remove the drawer by pressing down the plastic 'lip' which is (normally) at the rear middle. In our Bosch it is at the rear of the conditioning part. Once removed give it a thorough clean, particularly the vertical tube down which the softener siphons.
In most cases this has cured the problem and hopefully yours!
If it does not please raise another problem ticket stating that you have already carried out the cleaning- that will make it quicker to receive an alternative/subsequent suggestion.

When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...

Did a wash as normal,
The first thing to do is to clean the filter.
This is located at the rear of the washer at the bottom.
Remove lower rear panel of washer.
Locate and remove the large black hose connected to bottom of drum,, have some cloths handy as there will be water come out.
Remove and clean the plastic filter inside the hose. refit in reverse order, making sure you get the hose on properly.
If this does not cure the problem, then check the brushes in the motor, replace if less than 4 or 5 mm long.
if still no go, then it could be a faulty control module.
