yes it sounds like it

Belt might have slipped off.

if it is very noisy there are things to check. 1 if the transit blots at the back have been removed. 2 that the machine is secure on the floor and level. 3 that the machine is not overloaded. this should solve most noisy hotpoint washers. if it is still noisy after checking all this the motor is on the way out or the drum. but most of time it is just the transit bolts and that the machine is not level. hope this helps.

Check the pump is not jammed/blocked also filer which is located within sump hose bottom middle of machine

is there any flashing lights? there should b or some lights are staying on, this will b a fault code, repost the lights or pattern and i will try to find the result for you.

Could be faulty door interlock switch

try unpluging unit for a minute and it may reset

Not impossible to repair if you know someone good at these things. A bearing is very very cheap as is a new seal but if you have run it a while like this it may have damaged the casing or shaft in which case, do as above and get a new one. Don't bother trying unless you have experience and be prepared to write it off

Have you checked the filter? even if the pump is o/k, if the filter is blocked, it will not empty..
If filter clear, then you have a more serious problem.

Open the door and pull it out. There may be a clip or button to press down at the very back of the drawer.

Clean it thoroughly under hot water. remove the softener compartment and thoroughly clean. also clean inside soap dispenser body.

the dial clicks to indicate an error code as it turns the light will fash a code out -likly code will be 5 flashes which indicates pump blockage-check filter

water pump is either clogged with something or bad

is it rinsing okay is it pumping ok if not clean filter located at sump hose

Check the motor if this is still OK. If it is no longer spinning or running, look for the running capacitor.
Note the rating in microfarads or take this off as your
sample when you buy a replacement. Put the replacement in place, and restart. Please let us know
