I can not play dvds, cds ok

Assuming that you mean that you cannot play dvd movies, you need software to play dvds.

You can download a free dvd player but you have to be careful about free software, sometimes they contain hacker tools

Input Signal Out Of Range

Some monitors have low resolution, that if it doesn't support that resolution then you'll expect an "input signal out of range" message on screen. try to boot on "safe mode" if it works then you have to lower your screen resolution at "display properties" if not then the monitor has a defective data cable. ;)

Hp w2007 lcd monitor, osd lockout & main menu display

Once you realize that resetting it doesn't work (as I did ) take it apart. This instruction is for an hp w2007 only! It's the one I just fixed. Remove the three screws holding the base on. The one in the middle is hard to see because it's in a hole but readily accessible. Remove the black back cover by inserting a skinny screwdriver between it and the gray housing. Start in the middle on any of the four corners.Pry it up and work your way to the corners. At the corners pry up with more force and the plastic tabs will snap off. Trust me, just do it!! Once you have snapped the plastic tab at all four corners the back will lift right off. locate the three small wires that go into the menu, -, +, select switches. Cut the three wires and tape them off separately. Do this so they can't touch the case or each other. Do to the wires that are going back toward the monitor! The ones going to the switch do not need to be taped. The switches are now dead. Is that clear? Cut the wires going to the switch and tape the cut ends that go back to the monitor. You will no longer be able to manually adjust anything but I never used the adjustments anyhow. The PC will take care of it for you. I did this 8 hours ago and it's still working perfect! Before I made the fix I was getting OSD Lockout, no input signal, it was scrolling through the menu and the screen was going blank every 5 minutes!! It will work!!!

I have a compaq monitor

Your monitor does not support the display settings you have set in your operating system.
To change these settings go: (Windows 7)

Control Panel > Display > Screen resolution [Change to 1440x900]
then on the same screen, go to Advanced Settings > Monitor > Screen Refresh Rate [Set to 60 Hertz].

(This usually happened if you switched monitors, or used a TV, or maybe a projector).

You can use the same method to set up any resolution or refresh rate you want.

My HP w2007 has started

Hey there, Normally simply pressing a random key on your keyboard or moving your mouse should wake it up, if it doesn't though I think the easiest way to solve this is to simply turn off the sleep mode after x amount of time.
If you have windows 7, press the start button and type in "power options", go ahead and open power options and there you will be able to set the time it takes before your PC shuts down, and you can also set it to never.

If you still wish to use this feature but just want to be able to it's a bit tricky and it won't even work for all PCs but if the keyboard waking isn't working, then it's probably because your pc does have this feature. When your PC is off, boot it up again and enter the bios by pressing F10 i believe it is for HP. And somewhere you should be able to set which devices are allowed to wake up your computer, all devices are probably disabled now, so go ahead and enable the keyboard to wake up your computer. Now save and exit, and the next time your PC goes to sleep mode you should be able to wake it up by pressing a key on your keyboard.

I hope I was able to assist. If I was, please don't forget to rate this solution.

My lcd screen has broken/cracked

That is a hard question to answer since I don't know what is complicated to you vs not. Here is a seller on ebay from Hong kong I have never delt with but they have the tools and are selling LCDs. ASk if they have manuals or service manuals or instructions for your camera specific. if not check other vendors on ebay as I have seen others for sale on the monitors.
