Hotpoint TDL15 Electric Dryer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

There is a
high probability it is a thermistor tripping out. It cuts power to the heater
or fan, or both if the tumble dryer overheats. UNPLUG THE MACHINE FROM THE WALL BEFORE PROCEEDING. At the back of the machine, you will see a bulge, held in place by half a dozen or so screws, that covers tha fan and heater element. Once removed, you will see the heating element and the
thermistors (I think there are 3 on this model). The thermistor is round, about the size of your
thumbnail, set into an oval metal casing, usually with 2 holes in it to mount
it and a couple of spade connectors coming off it..

Typically, the back of the centre thermistor will have a small hole in it that you can poke a paperclip end into.
Basically,
the thermistor is a convex bi-metal disc that, when it gets too hot, pings and
becomes concave, by pushing a paperclip into the hole, you push out the disc
and make it concave again (You will hear it click as you push the pin in). This is usually all that you will need to do to fix the problem. However, if it was an overheat trip out, you need to ask yourself why this happened. There are usually 2 possible causes: 1) The dryer was overloaded2) The filters were clogged3) The heating element is faulty and requires replacement. 1) Is very unlikely. 2) is the most common culprit. 3) will show its self if you clean the filters and the problem keeps reoccuring. If you do have to swap out the heating element, you will find they are easily available on Ebay.
How do you remove top from a Hotpoint CTD80 tumble
2 screws at the back and then push the top towards the back of the machine...you might need to give it a bit of a wack, if it's too tight just take the 3 screws from the back of the side panels and things will loosen up a little

Sounds like the belt has come off or has broken...you can obtain a new belt from applianceparts.com if it has broken...if not you will need to pop the top off and place the belt back on the pullies
The dryer is spinning,but
If your dryer is still heating, but your clothes won't dry, you may want to check the dryer interior cabinet and/or the entire run of the exhaust ducting from where it exits your dryer to the point where it leaves your home to ensure you have no kinks, clogs, or excessive bends. The following link explains many of the common problems that can cause poor drying efficiency and longer dry times:

The water you are finding in the drum can come from condensation. This is another symptom of a dryer that may be clogged. The dryer exhausts warm, moist air. If the heat and moisture have no where to go, it will condensate inside the drum and exhaust vent.
Before assuming you have a problem with the appliance, check your installation to ensure you are providing the dryer with proper exhaust and air flow. This is the NUMBER ONE cause of poor drying efficiency. A dryer that is clogged, or has restricted air flow, will not dry efficiently and will cause the heating circuits to OVERHEAT. This will eventually will lead to component failures and is the source of many fire hazards. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.
FYI: There are no adjustments that can be made to any of the internal thermostats or heating element to make it run at a higher temperature. All these components have a fixed setting.
If the dryer still produces heat, this usually a good sign the heating element is working. If the dryer is clogged, however, the internal protection devices, such as the Hi-Limit Thermostat and Internal Bias Thermostat will shut the heating element off prematurely to prevent the dryer from overheating, and to prevent damage to the heating element. Eventually, the Thermal Cut-Out (TCO) or Thermal Fuse will trip and the dryer will not run.or produce heat.
If you have any questions, please post back with your COMPLETE model number and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Hotpoint dryer squeaks at regular intervals
Slow squeaking or scraping noises are often from the
rear bearing behind the square panel, the rear bearing
sleeve is inside the middle of the heater housing and the shaft part is attached to the
back of the drum by a "C" clip which needs to be removed first.

F10 error code on Hotpoint ctd80. How do I fix ? Thanks
remove 2nd largest panel on back of dryer then remove the heater unit (two small screws) from inside panel,on the top of this you will see two small units with wires going in and out both sides looking closer one of these units has a small hole using a pin push it down into hole this resets thermal cut out,you should hear a small click.
Does not heat up
try flipping you breaker off and on 2 or 3 times (hard and fast) if this don't work check element, timer , thermostats and safety switch on motor 2 heavy red wires (check wiring diagram for pin numbers of safety switch)....if this switch goes bad the motor will still run but it wont let power go to element
Hotpoint DLB 1550 clothes dryer belt replacement
I don't know of any sites with pictures but, remember just average people assemble these so it's not as hard as it seems. The electrical connectors are one way fit so you don't have to worry about mixing them up. If your worried though use tape to lable where they go. The drum rides on the front of the dryer so when you remove the front the drum will drop down. Remove the old belt and then slide the new belt back to where the old belt rode on the drum. Make sure there are no twists in the belt. Loop the belt on the motor pulley and the loop it over the tensioning wheel. Make sure the tension wheel puts plenty of tension on the belt. Have someone help you hold the drum in place while you put the front on.Before you close the top turn the drum by hand to make sure it turns smoothly. Then close it up and run it empty and listen for squeaks and scraping sounds. Good luck and if you have more questions ask. I can help you through if you need help. Please rate me so I know if I'm helping. Thanks
Hotpoint tumble drier TDL52S
you dont need to take the back off. to get inside, first remove the panel on the bottom of the front, that will allow you to remove the front panel and you will be able to get inside the dryer. as far as stretching the belt, i have never heard of that. there is a belt tensioner that holds the belt tight though. good luck!
Hotpoint dlb1550 squeeks extremely loud
the squeaking that you hear is probably the belt slipping. it needs to be replaced. they are easy to find on the internet, just search by your model number of dryer and search for parts. if you need directions on how to change it, let me know
