Dryer comes on but keeps tripping the electric

some part of the heater element must be touching the metal enclosure in order to cause the breaker to trip. if it is just cracked it won't heat but the breaker won't trip.
first unplug the dryer then look for any part of the element touching a grounded part of the dryer (metal) parts.

always look for the obvious first like loose or burned off wires from their terminals.

TDC32 Dryer is running but is not heating up

Hi.
Common fault with these is the two thermostats that fit on the heater at the back of the appliance -- accessable by unscrewing the back cover (MAKE SURE POWER IS DISCONNECTED FIRST!!)

There is a choice of thermostats depending on the serial number of the appliance.

If you need any other assistance please email me on: [email protected]

The filter light wont go off even though i have

Try running the appliance with NO filter in for about 10 minutes. Does this make a difference? If so then the fault is in the filter unit --- possibly the micro mesh is blocked.

If symptoms persist use a hoover nozzle down where the filter fits to remove any debris.

Hope this helps

When I start dryer it starts but stops as soon as

Hi.

The normal cause for this is a start relay (Part No:1701624) that has failed.
It sits inside the front panel roughly behind the start button. Its purpose is to keep the machine running when you let go of the button.

Cost is roughlt £26.00

Hope this helps

How do I remove/clean the filter on my Hotpoint

There are 2 filters to clean on this dryer.
1 is at the bottom front left, pull all the way out, and wash clean under running water, quite in order to do this.
The second one is at bottom front right, again pull out to clean, but do not use water on this one.
Some dryers also have one located inside the door opening, pull out to clean if yours has one.
Please leave feedback.
Thanks

Hotpoint tc71 trips ele every time I turn it on

I would suspect that the heater or thermostat./s are the cause of the prob.
Remove rear cover, and disconnect the heater and stats, and try again.
If it still trips, then you probably have got something more serious to contend with.
Please rate my solution.
thanks.

I have had this problem several times. It usually turns out to be the heating element. In some cases it can be a thermostat.

Tdc is not heating any more (dryer)

If it is spinning then you may have lost a 110 leg on your electrical outlet that causes the heaters to come on. Start there and work your way back to the dryer. You should have 110 from the ground(lower center hole) to the hot left hole. You should also have the same on the 110 ground to the right hot leg. if you check both the left and right together you should have 220/240 volts. If you don't stop right there and call an electrician. If you do have 110 on each leg as we call it giving you a combined 220/240 volts (it sometimes varies) move up the line to dryer. Either the heater coil has broken (good time to check for good airflow at the vent) or a non resettable thermostat has been tripped causing the heaters to stay off. Poor airflow can cause these two things to fail. The thermostat will need to be replaced if it is the non resettable type. The heaters may have gone too. Those should be checked as well.

Squealling

look on the back plate towards the center. there should be either a panel or an opening. If so behind that plate is access to the drum bearing. The drum is normally on a center bearing and it may have worn out. other wise it may be rollers under the drum if it's not balanced on fiberglass skids. The bearing is normally refitted with a composite bushing and that will stop the squeal. It's called a drum bearing kit. There are so many different types and models so I'm just taking a stab at it.

My hotpoint tc71 drier blows the plug fuse when

boy the list could be very long but this dyer draws a large amount of current (amps) it should be on its own circuit nothing else on the line at least when the dryer is running you said "fuse" if it is blowing a fuse as opposed to a breaker you could try a Time Delay fuse 15 amps might help please do not put a larger fuse in (even though it fits) the wire size dictates the size of the fuse and increasing fuse size with out changing the wire size to accomodate will create a fire hazzard good luck

My dryer just started squeaking. What can I oil

Quick fix. Unplug first. Take the back off and spray at the motor bearing and drum bearings with WD40. Try to avoid the drum belt. Its a quick fix and you will have to replace the motor bearing down the road. Don't forget to clean out all of the lint laying around. That becomes a fire hazard. Good luck.

I have a 30 amp conversion cord with 4 wires and 3

Dryers come with a wire or metal strap connecting the center "neutral" terminal to the frame of the dryer. When using a four wire power cord, take that wire or strap off the frame. (it can be discarded or better yet, in case this dryer needs to ever be converted back to a three wire cord) connect the frame end of the wire / strap to the center terminal of the power block. Now, Green (ground) wire goes to the dryer frame, White (neutral) goes to the center terminal, and the Red and Black (both "hot") wires go to either outside terminal. (one to each)
