Hotpoint ctd40 tumble dryer gone dead changed the fuse still dead any ideas ???

Check the mains lead for continuity! Thats making sure the lead to the dryer is not broke anywhere internally. It may mean removing panel to get access to where the mains lead goes into the dryer, You can do this with power off, check with a multimeter that both the brown wire and blue wire as well as the green and yellow earth wire has continuity from the plug to the dryer!!

Hotpoint condensing dryer model TCFS93BGP. cleanfilter/empty water light keeps coming on after 3/4 minutes

Hi, my dryer has 3 things to check out of which one is more hidden:
- empty the water reservoir
- clean filter in the door
- clean condensor which is hidden below the bottom panel which has to be released through a button behind the door

The last one is less obvious and more difficult to find/reach. Might need to consult the manual.

Did you check all 3?

Hope this helps

Put timer in hotpoint we4m532 and still won't work

Electric dryer no start does nothing Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. CHECK THERMAL SHUT OFF THERMOSTAT USUALLY LOCATED ON THE BLOWER. for OHMS or resistance with a meter. Should show a closed circuit. Ohms WHEN THIS FUSE BLOWS IT WILL SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING. NEXT Test the PUSH start switch with meter for OHMS. Should show OHMS when pushed in or on start, and no ohms or infinity when in off position. If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor. Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay/capacitor on motor. Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings Another thing to check is the belt safety switch. With a multi meter. Especially if u just replaced the belt. The belt safety switch is attached to the Tensioner and motor. IT LOOKS LIKE A DOOR SWITCH SOMEWHAT a little black pc of plastic with 2 prongs going into it. Sits at bottom of motor. Under the Tensioner. Attach meter clips to the 2 prongs on switch, Then when the little white push button is pressed in it should show continuity and none when released. Lastly check ur DOOR SWITCH for continuity with a meter when the button is pushed in the (on/Door closed position,) it may have gone bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTRP6kHqAFs Hey GOD IS GOOD !!!! Hotpoint CTD80 condenser dryer complete power failure, please help! Was working fine then suddenly died and won't turn on,changed fuse but nothing, any help is gratefully received, cant afford to replace

A broken fuse replaced ? maesured ? heating element measure are there burning control lights ? , or no function at all program clock defect ? , its in safe mode because of overheat protection ? , make regular maintenance schedule to clean your cooling fan between its grooves ??? thats the caused of many Unforeseen house fires. especial condens dryers because of the highly combustible dust buildup,, do a measure of the thermal security units on the heating element and its on begin or the end placed of the heating element. the program clock the motor carbon brushes of this part maybe is an autostop protection activated inside the brush itself and if it has an induction motor the start capacitor can be damaged.

My hotpoint dryer will not stay running unless the start button is held down

What you can do without any tools or experience... Ok... Let's first assume you have made sure there is nothing keeping the door from closing completely. The start circuit overrides the door switch momentarily to initiate the run circuit. A malfunctioning door switch is possible but they are simple and built for many cycles. The timer could not be in a "RUN" position. Reposition it to "TIMED " cycle of a reasonable length for the load. Check the closing of the door and the contact with the door-switch is not obstructed in any way. Retry the start button.... If it still will not run on it's own, it will require internal testing. I would have to recommend a qualified repair Tech be called.

Is there a way to bypass timer?

Sure, but why? The timer is hooked up to a cam(s) that sets up the different operations of unit. Without the cam working about all you will do is maybe get a spinning motor at best. Replace the messed up timer assembly.

Why is my hotpoint tcm570 tumble dryer leaving a puddle on the floor

Since no dryer I am aware of uses any liquid, I suggest you may be putting wet clothes into the dryer. This can happen if the washer does not spin the clothes nearly dry. Many dryers have small holes in the dryer drum to let excess water flow out, I would guess that may be the case with yours. Are your clothes nearly dry when they come out of the washer? If not, perhaps the washer has a loose belt or has a problem with the "dry" cycle. God bless your efforts.

Hotpoint Bwm129 dose not heat up on any program. Was advised to change the element but still no joy. Discovered a small probe which inserts into the element body would this be the problem

You have not share the year of this dryer, but the newer ones ( since 1985) began to add heat sensors and fuses. These "fuses" and "thermostats" can fail, and need replacement. They are tested with a volt-ohm meter or a multi-meter. Likely you have one that has failed. The newest models have as many as 6. An average is about 4. God bless your efforts.
