ViewSonic VA520 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor Questions & Answers
Viewsonic - shows signs of overheating component
its far more likely some of the capacitors have bulged and/or leaked. reducing their function... its a very common point of failure.
IF you decide to try fixing it. remember there may be quite a high voltage and stored charge inside the tv.. especially the main smoothing caps in the powersupply will hold a charge for a very long time (the big ones) . be careful
I cant get sound on my viewsonic va520
You need to add some information - what is the source for the video that you are viewing on the VA520? The VA520 has no speakers in it. If it is a desktop computer, look on the back of the computer for a green 3.5 mm stereo audio port. This is your speaker out connection. Plug in any set of computer speakers or headphones. (Computer speakers may require a USB connection or to be plugged into an AC outlet to power the speakers.) You can find cheap speakers for under $20; good speakers will be more expensive. With a laptop or some desktops, you'll find a headphone jack on the front of the computer. (This will be labeled with a small picture of a set of headphones.) The headphone jack is also a 3.5 mm stereo port.I hope this helps. Cindy Wells (laptops usually have internal speakers; most desktops do not have any internal speaker anymore. If you have headphones with RCA audio plugs, you can use a RCA F/F to 3.5 mm M audio adapter to use them with the computer. A stereo system may not work with a computer.)
Have VA520 monitor - no sound from it - can't find
I would double check to see if the audio cable is firmly connected with the computer and the monitor.
Make sure that the audio cable is coming out from the audio out (should be a green jack) and then going into the correct jack on the monitor. If that doesn't work try another audio cable and test.
Hope this helps
Upon powering up, a banner flashes OUT OF RANGE.
The maximum/native resolution for this display is 1024 x 768 @ 60Hz, you need to adjust your PC video resolution, it is too high right now for the Viewsonic to work. Hook up your old monitor and set the new resolution, otherwise bootup in safe mode (hit f8 key while booting up) and choose VGA support, set the new resolution, reboot.
Upgraded OS to Windows 7. Now can only get
The problem is not at your monitor, it's on the VGA card; there are no drivers installed. Clarify me the brand / model of your VGA (or in case of embeded at the motherboard post the motherboard's brand / model) in order to try to locate and post you back the drivers for Windows 7.
Waiting clarification, don't hesitate to post.
