Panasonic PV-GS31
You can find a charger at Wal-Mart for about $45 that includes a car charger. I just got mine there after searching Best Buy and Circuit City to no avail! Just make sure to check the back of the case for compatibility with the battery and/or camcorder.

Panasonic mini dv camcorder cannot get it to view video on my pc
I solved the problem on my own. On the panasonic.com site I searched and found my mini dv camcorder and then I found the software I would need to make it work on the computer. I found everything I needed and I will not need to join the premium plan you offer, sometimes if we just take time you can find it yourself without paying so much for something are there any sites that just help people instead of wanting your money....

Please help with panasonic PV-GS31 !!
The driver for Win 200 will work fine under XP. Vista of course is another monster all together.
What I would suggest under Vista is the following.
Use the same Win2000 Drivers...
- Extract the drivers to a folder.
- Plug the camera into the USB port and Vista will detect it. At this point (if you are really lucky) Vista will have drivers in it's catalogue and install them.
- If it does not have them it will pop up a box and ask what you want to do.
- Choose select the driver from a list.
- When the window pops up, choose Have Disk and browse to the folder you extracted the files into.
- Pick the right INF file and then select OK.
- It will then begin to try and install the drivers.
- Follow any other prompts you see, and make sure to read each one clearly.
Hope that helps =)

Using the PV-GS31 as a web cam
Go to menu. Under playback, go to USB Function, more than likely, it say Web Camera next to it. Pan right and select DV Studio.
MENU
PLAYBACK->SEARCH
12 bit AUDIO
audio out
USB FUNCTION -> web camera
DV STUDIO
This should work.

My LCD Screen..
Your flat-wire connection between LCD monitor and the monitor PWB inside the camera is broken. can't fix it by yourself. Look for a Panasonic authorized service only!

How to Record From a TV Using PV-GS13?
connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks.
connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop.
Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v.
Let me know how you go

Help it's going to fast
Your camera has a capstan servo problem which is more than likely being caused by the capstan motor itself.Nothing you can do youself, would suggest bring to service but reccomend getting estimate before repairing.

PANASONIC PVG59
Hi, I have a Panasonic NV-DS38 which does exactly the same thing. I spent £160 in a repair lab to fix a year ago and now its doing the same thing again. V annoying.
But I have found its something to do with the loaded tape. Try a different tape or try ejecting, powering off, powering on and reloading the tape. Its a workaround rather thasn a solution but have a go and let me know.

Newly Inserted Tape Ejects Automatically
Usually the drive mechanism is made up of rubber rollers, belt, etc. If these are worn out (in time), the drive mechanism will slide and will not be able to rotate the tape. If the cam cannot detect the movement ?n the tape then it will efect it.

Acts like it's reconrding, then won't play back. Plays back older tapes with difficulty
You have one of two problems my freind. One could be the CCD sensor or related circuits have a problem in it and most likly a bad capacitor or a CCD imager, or the shutter is bad and sticking. Unfortanatly you really cannot tell untill the unit is taken apart and bench yested. I found a few really reliable folks that will give you a free estamate as I have sent a few peeps to them in the past and with great results. Good Luck
