I'm not getting a picture. When I push a button on the monitor it says, "In power save mode, press any key on keyboard or move mouse". Neither one of those things work.

If possible hook up to known good computer. If monitor works fine you have an issue with first computer/settings..Otherwise there is an issue with that monitor and it needs help.

How do you make the E151FP compatible with Windows

Nothing you can do unless you want to manually modify the driver, this is one reason I did not upgrade my monitor tester PC to win7.
Dell will not update the drivers for their old monitors which is too bad since they are functioning fine in XP.

You need a new driver for the monitor. Are you now using a new Operating System? Perhaps Windows 7? Go to the http://dell.com websit and look up your monitor under downloads and drivers. Fidn the compatible driver for your operating system and download it.

Look for loose connection between the LCD panel T-CON board and the logic board first, it may also have lost the 5vdc for the T-CON board.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

The monitor comes on to desktop then goes blank,

You have a bad connection on the signal input to the screen.

This is probably the input socket on the monitor, but try a different cable first. If that does not help then it is the socket on the monitor.

You will need to disassemble the monitor to check solder joints on the video in socket.

If you are not comfortable with that process then it has to be a repair centre.

I may be able to offer further advice if you want to tackle it youself.

If you use domain then disconect your computer from domain then restart computer then again set it to domain member.
For that right click on my computer icon then click on property and click on "computer name " then change its member ship to domain.
Then check.
Also make sure your domain server is working fine.
And make sure that your user account has rights to access network.
Check your ip settings of network adapter if you use domain server then primary dns must be set as your domain ip.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Computer monitor display blank, LED flashes green

There are numbers of causes for the monitor black out. The most likely case with yours is with the over heating problem. What i mean is not the monitor, but the cpu components like processor, ram, hardisk, or whatever it may be. So you need to check them once again. As the first step, please disassemble and clean all the parts inside. If you have coolant paste, apply little paste on the heatsink. Blow away all the dusts, and again after you've finished cleaning, assemble the machine, reconnect everything and reboot the system. Sometimes the display refresh rate can cause the problem, but i don't think, that's related to your problem. If there's no internal defect, we can troubleshoot and fix it somehow. There are number of measures. If the above given tricks can't fix it, let's try another. Do let me know. Good luck.

Monitor goes to white

If I remember correctly on some version of this model uses male/female connector on the logic board directly on top of the LCD panel, if you press on the logic board, the problem will go away, it jsut bad design, later model uses rinbbon cable instead. You can try reseating the board to see if it will work OK.

Dell E151FPP monitor flickers and colors look

Hi!

The yellow color issue may be caused by a problem with your VGA (or DVI) cable (the cable that connects the monitor with the computer).
  • Check if it's connected firmly to both the monitor and the graphic adapter. If so, try replacing it with another cable.
The problem above may cause the flickering image as well, but it can also be a result of drivers not installed correctly (or out-dated) and/or misconfiguration of the display settings.
  • Try downloading and installing an up-to-date driver for your graphic card (Write me it's model if you need any help with it).
  • Next, try changing the refresh rate of the monitor:
  1. Go to Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced.
  2. Go to Monitor tab.
  3. Change the value under Screen refresh rate. (Make sure the option "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" IS checked)
  4. Click OK, on all windows.
You might need to repeat these steps, choosing a different refresh rate each time.
  • Your monitor might not support your current screen resolution. Lower the screen resolution by going (again) to Display Properties -> Settings and setting the resolution to a lower value. Press OK at the end.
  • If none of the above helped, test with another monitor. If problem doesn't reoccur with the other monitor - your own must have finished his lifetime :/
  • One last hope is using a different graphic adapter. It can be either an onboard adapter (if you have one on your motherboard - then you'll need to take out your existing graphic card), or placing another graphic cards.
Don't forget to install an up-to-date driver in this case as well...

I hope this helps...
Good luck, Mr. Budman.

Regards,
Pelu.
