White startup screen
try this test: put pc into hibernate mode and allow full cycle. if monitor ceases problem, then original problem may be with pc's video output only.

MONITOR BLICKS AND NOTHING COMES ON THE SCREEN
Grateful how? Neverminding that detail, perhaps your screen's backlight or the power supply for it has failed. There's nothing to do but compare your unit's operation with that in the Service Manual or that of an operating unit; this is complicated by the fact that components might send an OK signal back to the main controller, so removing the bad parts will not necessarily mean the unit behaves normally otherwise. It may be as simple as rinsing the cat barf out with water and D.I. water (but you would still have to open the thing up on towels to find out.)
Of course the main power supply might also be faltering. you can probe the supply (with a DVM or scope) to see how steady that is.
