The oven won't come on. turn the oven on and there

Is this a current connection with gas service in other parts of the home that are working?
If the gas service is working in other parts of the home, check to see if there is a turn off valve where the gas connects to the oven.

Beverything works but the oven will not

most likelt the oven ignitor is bad and needs to be replaced. Lets start from there. Remove the racks from the oven. Remove bottom panel. Remove flame shield if the is one. The ignitor should now be visible. Turn the oven on, paying close attention to the ignitor. It should begin to glow. It should get to a real bright, almost white glow. If it doesnt, then thats your problem.

Broiler works but bake does not

Your oven ignitor is bad and needs to be changed. To get to it, you're gonna have to remove the racks and bottom shelf in oven. Also remove metal plate on top of flame spreader. Ignitor is towards the back right mounted onto flame spreader.
This is a common problem, since most people use the oven more times than the broil.

I need to learn how to use my oven, because i

You can get the manual for the RGB745 at the GE Appliances support site: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/ . Enter the model number in the search box. There are several models that start with RGB745.

On most of the Hotpoint ovens for regular baking, press Bake and use the + or - buttons to set the desired oven temperature. Then press Start/On. Then the oven will display Pre as it re-heats. When the thermostat indicates the desired temperature is reached, the oven will beep. The racks should be on the middle positions for most baking. (For roasting use the lowest positions.) Put the food in when the oven is done preheating. When done, press Clear/Off. Timed baked requires the clock be set correctly, then set the start and end times.

For the older ovens with dials to control the oven, set the first dial to Bake and the second to the desired temperature. Wait at least 10 minutes for the oven to preheat. Again put the oven racks in the middle of the oven for most baking.

Do not lock the oven latch and keep the oven closed through the baking cycle as much as possible. (Rotating pans and basting steps should be done quickly so that the oven doesn't cool much.)

I hope this helps.

Oven will not heat up

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

This indicates a open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I have a Hotpoint RGB745 when i turn the stove on

The stove knobs won't turn on the oven. If you've already checked the igniter, take apart the top and look for loose wires. My husband found a loose one going to the control board, tightened it and now things seem to be working.

Hotpoint Gas Range does not

We had the same problem, my husband took ours apart and noticed a loose wire off the relay board for the oven. So far it's working again, we had it at 450 for awhile and it kept the temp, then lowered it to 325 for 1/2 hour and it kept the temp, yippee! It better keep working, because he's cooking a ham on Christmas!
