it may be that you need to format the disc this option should be located in the menu somewhere if it does not automatically ask you when putting a new disc in the camera. i hope this helps you.

Hi i have a Hitachi DZHV595E HD Camcorderand when im videoing and pause it and take it of pause carry on videoing and look bout on the video it speeds fast then slows down then fast again please help as imdisappointed thanks james

First, be sure you have all the drivers installed. These are usually provided in the packaging via cd. If not you can download them from the manufacturer website. Be sure your camera is compatible with the operating system you are using. If both of these answers are yes then try deleting and reinstalling the drivers. Do NOT plug in the camera until the drivers are installed and the camera is rebooted.
