Information window constant in middle of screen
Check to see that the menu button has not been permanently depressed, perhaps by the plastic button having been pressed down a little too hard and breaking off internally, jamming the microswitch behind it that it operates. I have encountered this situation many times in other monitors. Worth checking :o) Can sometimes also be cause by foreign materials jamming the button in it's cutout. The microswitch may also have failed. Alternatively, you have a fauly control microprocessor and will need board level service to the monitor
No power
Could be the power supply like you said and the most obvious things to check when its open is the small fuse on the power supply or any capacitors which are buldging which are faulty.
This is for lcd monitors which have a built in power supply or if you dont know they use the kettle type lead =].
INFORMATION WINDOW KEEPS DISPLAYING ON THE SCREEN
Press once the Input button. The menu appears. Press the Input button again and hold it. Now this is reduced to the problem of blocking the Input button (holding it with something). (Not very technical but then again neither is the restart when the computer blocks :D)
Cheers
Monitor works fine on power up then display goes
Hi Good day!!! Try to run in safemode by tapping f8 while booting. and see if you monitor goes blank (same problem)
Well It's a common problem with sony hs75p
the problem is with the power board's transistor in the monitor
people might try some stuff and may get some results, but trust me it's all luck...
i had the same problem, so i gave my monitor for repairs as it was under warranty and the culprit was the power board (sony calls it the 'A' board). The only problem is u need to have patience as u are dealing with sony here i mean, i got my monitor back, but after 2 tries and with many dead pixels and analog signal being greenish...well at least the DVI port worked fine >.>, which they said wasn't their fault ( i was like...right, so the dead pixels generated all by themselves, huh?..by the way if u are wondering...before giving my monitor...they checked the monitor and it's written in the receipt that the monitor had no dead pixels).... so dont be surprised if your monitor comes up with another problem, after giving ur monitor for repairs to sony
in any case it's 'A' board problem
Thank you for using FixYa
Hope my solution helps you thanks

Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...
