Sony Handycam CCD-TRV608 Camcorder Questions & Answers
Disable the blue "No signal" screen from showing up?
There is no Blue screen disable option on the camera.
Since the blue screen caused by the video heads, try to clean it up by running a cleaning cassette.
The cleaning cassette helps only for minor clogs of the Drum(video heads)
How to fix screen?
It sounds like you may need a new LCD screen or lens. I'm having similar problem with a white LCD screen on a Canon camcorder, but it still records video, I just can't see what's in the frame or access menus. Does yours still record video? If so, it is the LCD screen.

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing as the Camcorder is generating beeping sound. Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue is with the cassette drive mechanism. I suggest that you reset the Camcorder and check the operation. To reset the Camcorder, please press the reset button shown in the below picture. Make sure that the camcorder is turned ON when pressing the reset button.
If the issue persists, please perform a manual power reset by following the steps: 1. Turn off the camcorder. 2. Disconnect AC power adapter. 3. Remove the battery pack. 4. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds. 5. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position. 6. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack. 7. Turn on the camcorder. If the issue persists after power resetting, the tape mechanism may have to be changed. However, it is not economic to fix this old Camcorder by replacing the tape mechanism. The best possible option is to get a playback device for your old tapes, play it and connect the A/V output to the A/V input of the Computer and use Windows Movie Maker to capture the recordings. Alternately, you may purchase an 8mm to VHS adapter to playback those tapes in regular VCR. The below link shows the one you need.

I installed the Pixela Imagemixer
The currently bundled PIXELA software does not default to the correct audio settings. In the ImageMixer [Tool settings], confirm the USB Capture Device settings are set for an available [USB Audio Device]. This setting is not defaulted to the USB streaming mode.
The available USB audio device may be displayed as Sony Digital Imaging Device or USB Audio Device. When these choices are available, the Sony Digital Imaging Device should be selected.
If you are having any installation questions or problems with the PIXELA software, please let me know.
Thanks for understanding.
SIR, MY WINDOWS 7 NOT
only WIndows XP drivers are available for this device :
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=CCDTRV608&SelectOS=7#div_pos_18
try to install the drivers in compatibility mode
right click on setup
go to properties
go to compatibility
set it to win xp sp2
hit ok
run setup as administrator
ignore any error and hit continue anyway during installation
restart pc
if the above trick doesn't work then use the device in VIRTUAL XP MACHINE
us XP MODE or VMWARE..
I have the ccd crv-608
The available drivers for the CCD-TRV608 (the CCD-CRV608 isn't listed at Sony are here:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=CCDTRV608&LOC=3 . These are for Vista and older versions of Windows; however I can't tell if the 64-bit version is supported.
With Windows 7, try the Vista driver.in the compatibility mode. Right click on the installer and choose Properties. Set the program to always run as compatible with the older version of Windows. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run As Administrator. This may or may not work.
If that doesn't work, you should try a computer with a version of Windows that is compatible with the drivers from Sony. This will always work. You can use a physical computer (either a second computer or a dual boot computer) or a virtual computer. In the case of Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can do this for free. Download and install Microsoft's Virtual PC and the XP mode. Install the camera drivers in the XP computer as if it were the only machine. (You will need to save files to optical or other removable media to share them with the Win7 computer.) For all other options, you will need a valid copy of an older version of Windows. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.)
I hope this helps.

I have a Sony Camcorder
The specific definition of your Sony TRV608 error code E:61:00 is "Difficult to adjust focus. Inspect the lens block focus reset sensor."
This could mean you have foreign material inside your camera, or a solid-state failure of some kind. Both of these will require servicing at an
authorized sony repair center.
That said, another common cause of your E:61:00 error code is moisture inside your video camera. This causes condensation inside the lens and prevents the auto-focus from working, which generates the error.
Therefore I recommend removing the battery, opening the tape transport and placing the unit where it can gently dry out, such as close to a warm air vent. Give it a day in this position to ensure you've dried it out as much as possible before having it serviced.
I hope that helps.
Tape doesn't stay down, keeps popping back out of
you are prohibited from recording on thips tape. This is because the
red tab on the side of the tape that faces you when you are inserting
the tape inside the camera has been put in 'SAVE' position . to be able
to record o the tape you need to use your fingernail to slide the red
tab to the 'REC' position.
to help you understand this issue:
Tape and recording protection
The write-protect switch (right) prevents accidental erasure.
.
To prevent the recording on the tape from being erased, there is a
small write-protect tab that can be moved to one of two positions,
labeled "REC" and "SAVE". Comparing the sliding tab to a door, the tape
is in the "REC" position is when the "door" is open and the "SAVE"
position when it is closed. (Not all tape cases have markings for this
information!) The tape can only be recorded on (or recorded over) when
this tab is in the "REC" position. This is an improved version of the
VHS write-protect tab, which prevents erasure after it has been
(permanently) broken off.

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Hello, well you will find if you use Windows Vista/Win 7 no drivers for Sony cameras are loaded, none as far as I am aware are made.
But if you use Firewire cable as I do you wont need drivers, BUT make sure your camera is connected to PC via Fire Wire before you turn PC on, as it wont work if you get this wrong.

Hey!
Strangely, while searching the internet about your problem, I noticed that more than just a few people have reported that to fix the problem - and I quote: "the fix requires you to power off the unit completely and "Smack it" a few times
fairly hard."
Another quote from a FixYa user - just to convince you...: "solved the problem very easy in 5 seconds... by removing all batteries .. then shake the camera very hard (or
alternatively hit the bottom hard with your hand -at your own risk"
All I have to say is: Have faith - and good luck! :)
Best regards,
Pelu.

Your battery is not making contact with all three contacts, thus making the camera believe you are not using an infolithium battery, creating the error message. Clean the contacts on the camera with isopropyl alcohol and the contacts on the A/C charger.
