I have a black screen I can hear sound but not
This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Tape doesn't stay down, keeps popping back out of
you are prohibited from recording on thips tape. This is because the
red tab on the side of the tape that faces you when you are inserting
the tape inside the camera has been put in 'SAVE' position . to be able
to record o the tape you need to use your fingernail to slide the red
tab to the 'REC' position.
to help you understand this issue:
Tape and recording protection
The write-protect switch (right) prevents accidental erasure.
.
To prevent the recording on the tape from being erased, there is a
small write-protect tab that can be moved to one of two positions,
labeled "REC" and "SAVE". Comparing the sliding tab to a door, the tape
is in the "REC" position is when the "door" is open and the "SAVE"
position when it is closed. (Not all tape cases have markings for this
information!) The tape can only be recorded on (or recorded over) when
this tab is in the "REC" position. This is an improved version of the
VHS write-protect tab, which prevents erasure after it has been
(permanently) broken off.
I try to connect my sony CCD-TRV608 camcorder to
Hello, well you will find if you use Windows Vista/Win 7 no drivers for Sony cameras are loaded, none as far as I am aware are made.
But if you use Firewire cable as I do you wont need drivers, BUT make sure your camera is connected to PC via Fire Wire before you turn PC on, as it wont work if you get this wrong.

My Sony Model CCD-F301 camcorder
Your ccd-f301 camcorder if as old as the hills and should be replaced. I can fix them but it a total rebuild due to major capacitor failure . Then also can have issues with the guide arms coming off the guides and very loose guide rollers. It's a 20 year old camcorder. What is going on with your ccdtrv608? that is a cool camcorder. Your battery is not making contact with all three contacts, thus making the camera believe you are not using an infolithium battery, creating the error message. Clean the contacts on the camera with isopropyl alcohol and the contacts on the A/C charger.
C:31:22 CODE KEEPS FLASHING ON THE SCREEN
Hey!
Strangely, while searching the internet about your problem, I noticed that more than just a few people have reported that to fix the problem - and I quote: "the fix requires you to power off the unit completely and "Smack it" a few times
fairly hard."
Another quote from a FixYa user - just to convince you...: "solved the problem very easy in 5 seconds... by removing all batteries .. then shake the camera very hard (or
alternatively hit the bottom hard with your hand -at your own risk"
All I have to say is: Have faith - and good luck! :)
Best regards,
Pelu.
I got the code C:31:22 flashing on the screen.
this error pertains to one of the reels (the thing that turns the tape)is malfunctioning.so most likely you'll be having issues w/recording,playing,fast forwarding or rewinding the tape.you can try RESET (press the reset button located inside and beside the eject button in the tape compartment cover, while cam is on).if it doesn't work try POWER RESET (turn cam off, remove the batt, make sure the ac adaptor is not connected.turn power switch to camera or player, and leave w/o power for at least a minute.turn power switch back to off and reinsert batt.check if working).if still you get the error, repair might be needed.hope this helps.thanks:)
I get error code C:32:30 and it would not eject
Hi,
This ERROR C:32:30 is related to mechanical out of tapr loading path assembly, It need readjustment of mechanism of tape loading path, Please contact any expert nearby for mechanical adjustment, because its a bit technical job and can perform only by an expert, moreover no need of any part in its adjustment just pay the labor charges and your camera get fine again.

Same problem. The LCD screen works, i.e. I can see
Had the same problem. It's ainternal flex wire connecting LCD with camcorder. Got from the repair shop did it by miself and it's like knew.
It's a common problem as this cable is bend each time when we open the LCD screen, so the cable become faulty.Good luck

My camera won't play a tape. I get error code
The C31 indicates that a motor is not running/turning. This is not a DIY repair. In many cases, a belt has broken or slipped and needs to be replaced. In others, the motor itself is defective. In either case, the unit needs service including an alignment. Check with Sony for the repair cost. I believe that they have a fixed price for the repair which includes parts and labor.

In the Camera mode there is no image just a blank screen
I presume you have checked to see that the lens cap is off? You could also make sure you don't have the "Fade-in" function turned on. Do you see anything at all? Text? If you see text, it indicates that the LCD monitor is working and that you are in some mode that is not letting light get into the camera. Make sure you are ion the all-automatic mode. If you see nothing at all, I'll bet there is something wrong with the screen or the wires connecting to the screen. Do you get an image in the viewfinder?

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
Won't record picture
i did what a couple of people on this site did...i took the battery out and then back in...next, i ejected the tape and put it back...then it worked again...try it...it worked for me
