I Have Problem with DCR-HC30E Mini DV- There is no picure in LCD screen as i can see all my menu items and pre-recorded videos. when I try and record the screen is pitch black even though audio is recording.

Is anybody can help me to solve this problem

the flexwire cable is have an openline and that line is connected to the touch screen panel...it have to repaired or replace that flexwire to the service center....in our shop we modified that wire and became more durable than the original wire......:-)

Connections and accessories, yes. The problem with the black screen is the ccd assy, it needs to be replaced. Parts on hand to repair.

This type of camera usually downloads better with a Firewire (DV) connection. Some mini-DV cameras only use the USB connection for stills (if they have one) and can only download video by Firewire. This is because you have to play the tape into the computer, not just copy a file.

Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB.

Suitable Firewire (DV) cables can easily be found on Amazon or eBay. You will probably need the kind with a small (four pin) connector at one end and a larger (six pin) connector at the other.

I'm sorry for problem in your Sony DCR-HC30E camcorder
It seems tape path track is misaligned in MiniDV mechanism that is why camcorder lose sound playback and does not show pictures of other tapes recorded by other camcorders because these tapes are recorded on right track and this camcorder tape path track is misaligned so unable to read data.
This is not user level repair because camcorder will take apart in detail and qualified camera tech will readjust tape playback path track or will replace MiniDV tape mechanism in camcorder if required.
Please check with local camera repair shop for this job.

If you need to transfer your files from this handycam to your computer, the first thing you will need is the usb data cable. This will let you transfer the files.

But in order for the computer to recognize your handycam it will need a special software or driver. This driver can be download from this site.

Once completely downloaded install this driver to your computer.

You may need this user guide or manual for this. (In order to view this manual you will need and Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in your system)

Connect the Handycam to the computer via usb data cable and let the computer read and found new hardware. Once a message appears " Your New Hardware Installed and Ready To Use appear" browse your explorer and look for the icon of the Handycam. Double click the icon and then you are ready for transfer.

The problem is the ribbon cable connecting the circuit board to the LCD display.It is not very hard to replace but I have no idead from where to buy it.The missing red color is just the beggining,now my LCD sometimes turn to white and I can't see anything on it.

Why do you need that **** software from Sony?If you have a firewire port on your computer and a firewire cable you can transfer your footage with Windows Movie Maker.In Movie Maker you can choose the DV-AVI option to preserve the full quality of your footage.Later you can use the DV-AVI in Virtual Dub/After Effects/Premiere for editing or encoding.

I have the same problem with a DCR-HC45.The culprit is the ribbon between the circuit board and the LCD display,but my problem is worse,sometimes the screen turns white and I can't see anything on it.I have no idea from where to buy a replacement ribbon but I know how to replace it.
