Check the Device Manager in the computer to see if it is listed as well as the driver is installed.

There is no disc error come.First you format your disc from menu then use if still problem then may your disc problem try another one.

Did you try removing the driver from device manager Connect the camera open device manager and right-click on the camcorder(Look under USB controllers and imaging devices) and click uninstall.
Try to setup the driver again and see if it resolves the issue.

First of all, finalize MiniDVD disc in camcorder Finalize Menu option that is recorded in camcorder, then your laptop/ desktop or any other dvd player will playback it.
secondly DCR-DVD103 is dvd camcorder and Windows 7 compatible Picture Motion Browser version 4.3.03 is available on Sony Support, click HERE to download file (368 MB)

If still you do not get correct page/ link for some reason, click Sony Support, put your camcorder model and check Drives and Software link on top left side, click it and get further info.

yea.... well the camera tape in at the time probably got jammed. By the way, did you get the tape out? if you did the camera cannot except the tape because it refers to it as broken. This may or may not be true. Try playing that tape on another sony camera, and see if it works.

You need iMovie to get the video and edit to mac.

If it were worth repairing, as a Sony agent, I would replace all of the capacitors and clean up the board then reset the mechanism and test. Probably too old being 2001 vintage.

The best thing you can do now is to take it to a specialist and get them to do the repairs. Camcorders have a lot of electronics in them and can be easily damaged if your a not an experienced repairer. You might also have to consider that this camcorder might not be repairable.

The record / playback heads probably need cleaning, using a compatible cleaning tape. Failing that, it is either damaged or broken.

TRV260 nail-polish head attack: eek. Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of dissolving plastic parts, plastic gears, housing and insulation. Besides that, it leaves a residue of microscopic crystals which have probably contaminated the highly-polished metal head drum. Not to mention gumming up the bushes and bearings. With your next camera, rather use a head-cleaner DV-tape.
