Yes it can, you will have to go into settings/menu - the exact path is illuding me at the moment. It is however shown in the user manual

It complete depends what you are recording in! PAL or NTSC? and how many frames... FCP is customized to your camera settings, match them up and then capture away!

I capture mine using a PC because then you can play around with both MAC and PC editing platforms as MAC captures are encrypted to only run on MAC.

u have ur cassette compartment problem.so try to press hard if it still trying come out.then checked the lock notch is there any bane .

ya u can but the best way for u use for 40 min is just press the reset.then ur error is erase from the e prom for while.But it will come again some time not.

Hi...Tape jam inside your Camcorder ...fi you look careful on the side of the door tray look for a little hole it release manually the door but carefully remove the tape.. it possible the tape is unroll around the mecanism see if you cant release the pinch roller inside it a little black roiling rubber,it holding the ribbon tape

can u fine out what format did u use while recording.I mean
DV or DVCAM.if u record in DVCAM then it will happen like this.So change in DV

To make the camera see your PC is to unplug your camera cables to the PC turn off the PC then when everything is off, plug your camera in with the Firewire cable, then turn on your PC then depending on the camera being on it will then be seen okay.

Hello, I'm afraid your iLink IC is the problem. Unfortunately it is a BGA device and resides on the very expensive VC367 board. Sometimes the IC can be replaced albeit with very specialised IC removal equipment or the board needs replacing. This is also specialised in that all the Z1 data is stored on this board requiring the data to be, first, downloaded to a PC and then uploaded once the new board is fitted. The camera then needs aligning.

the fuse(circuit protector) in your camcorders DD BOARD has problem ,
if you camera is making sound of (tuck) and no display nothing is coming ...when u fixed battery to your camcorder.

need not worry it would nt be possible for you to repair the DD board

Mine had the same problem and the repair shop replaced the faulty LCD screen uni, now it's fine again.

Use good quality video head cleaning cassette as camera gives error if use improper or very old tape.

I assume that you can see live view to record on mini dv cassette but can't see recorded image in playback.

Let me know when you playback mini dv cassette, does time counter run time intervals or stays blank on LCD / eye finder?

If this happens, you have dirty / clogged video heads in camera and need to use good quality mini dv head cleaning cassette to clean heads. This will resolve problem.
