Monitor LED blinking--no display--How to open the cabinet

Most monitors (among the ~2000 I have repaired) have either four screws at the extreme corners accessible from the rear or only two with the other opposing edge snapped in. Some monitors, will have and extra 1 or 2 screws around the area where the connections are made while others may have only snap-in molded tabs that must be released with a flat-blade screwdriver.
Before bothering the monitor, I recommend you substitute another monitor to ensure that the monitor is receiving the signal inputs it needs to function. Loose connectors and failed video sections can also be the cause as well as a 'lost' driver that Windows has corrupted.
I also suggest you leave the monitor unplugged from the AC ine overnight since there are components that can retain hundreds of volts of charge for hours and deliver as really unpleasant shock if you tangle with one of these points. If the high voltage (horizontal) section is still active, it can deliver around 25,000 volts with enough power to punch a hole through your thumb.
A primitive check for the operation of the high voltage is to hold an AM band radio at various points of the housing. If you get squeals, the horizontal section is at work.

Monitor

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

My comp. moniter has lost it's green color,HELP!

Try tapping on the side of it see if it comes back on. At the back of the tube is three electron guns, which are red, blue, and green. Each color is driven by a circuit. I dont't know if you want to do this. Open the monitor, and check if the all three guns are lit up, more than likely one is out. If there is a small adjustment you can turn each one then put them back to the same position. Thats all you can really do. Other than that it is an elestronic technician job.

There are 3-4 patches of colours on the sides of

Sounds like a magnetism prob on your monitor. It happens occasionally and/or if a magnetic force has gotten close to the screen on CRT monitors. Speakers have magnets inside and many people place their speakers right next to their monitors. For your LG Studioworks 700S. I located a manual here:

http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/LG/700S-_E

Inside, on page A7 it indicates that the monitor has a "Degauss" feature. Activate it and your screen will jump around a bit before straightening out. This helps to restore the image.

Monitor goes black

hi
seems the computer of urs has a bad driver, ths y its goin blank or black.
To check this try booting up in safe mode. You do this on start up by pressing f8 over and over when you first turn on the puter. Then the puter will ask you what mode you wanna start in and you highlight safe mode. Once there go to monitor driver uninstall it and reinstall the driver (hope you kept the disc that came with the monitor.) If not your gonna have to go to the web site of AOC and dowmload a driver. Im saying this as I once had a puter monitor that the peeps thopught was bad and I hooked it up to a test jig and it worked all day. so when i did this to the puter it was fine. Now its astill a possibility that the back light curcuit is defective but maybe not??? Good Luck

PS Safe mode in case you dont know is windows started with NO drivers installed and all the things like the monitor and mouse and keyboard are a windows standard driver and this mode is made so the user can change a driver just in case it gets corrupt or the wrong one is installed.

hope u will b helpfull
regards

Lcd screen too reddish

LCD monitor works on RGB, if color is red, you have lost blue, green or both channels. This can happen because of a bad video cable, then double check.

If the cable is OK, then test the ribbon cable to LCD, and the input signal board, where you connect the video cable.

If you do not find anything in there , then it is usually the LCD controller board, in that case you usually replace it after testing, as troubleshooting and repairing a complex board like LCD controller may be difficult.

You find parts for several monitor here : Replacement Parts: Plasma TVs, LCD

Alternatively order parts from manufacturer.

My lg monitor has turned green

    Hi there,

A common cause of a green screen is simply that the cable is not securely connected to the video card. Try to unplug the monitor cable from the back of the computer, and then plug it back in again and securing it with the thumb screws if possible. If that does not work, there may be a reset option in the monitor's configuration menu.

What make and model is your monitor?
Is it a solid green color? Does it change after a period of time being left on?
