Hi Rshevlin, There could be a lot of random parts that could have been jarred or damaged internally with your CRT monitor. It was already fortunate that you didn't break the glass screen, but as you said already with your post it didn't come out unscathed (green and red area on the screen). I strongly suggest that you have a technician check out the monitor and see which part if any got damage or jarred inside your monitor. I also won't recommend opening your CRT monitor with the high voltage inside it. You may run the risk of getting electrocuted. Hope this helps you.

You have proved the monitor is OK.
If the desktop appears to boot up then the most likely problem could be a faulty video card OR the video card setting has been changed that is outside the range of the monitor's capabilities, ie, the refresh rate set too high (set it to 85Hz or less) or the screen resolution is set too high (set it to 1024x768).
You may need to connect a different monitor to the desktop to get a display to lower the video settings.

Hi, you can try this; in a clear area of the Desktop screen (right)) click, once the desktop window open, click on Personalize, next click on Display Settings. You can adjust the brightness by by doing the following: On the resolution scale adjust from Low>High; you can do this until you are satisfied with the view. In the (Colors) drop box, click the down (Arrow), and choose the "Highest" color (16bits>32bits) etc. Next click to open the (Advance)) settings, click on the (List All Modes) button, once the window open choose the (Highest) settings: example (1366 by 768, True Color (32bit), 60 Hertz. Remember to click the "Apply", and "OK" buttons after each selection or change. "Hope this helps' Ya"

There should also be a control to "lower" the image with respect to the screen. By reducing the size and recentering the image you should be able to fix the problem, if it can be fixed at all. If this control doesn't work, I'm afraid it's probably the beam electronics that got fritzed (it's usually a US$20 repair, but the problem lies in finding someone willing and able. Most CRT services won't service you unless they can swap the internal daughterboard with a working one of the same make and model, and these are getting increasingly rare with most monitors being flat LCD).

if u r connecting a laptop to an external monitor...just connect the monitor cable to the monitor jack in the laptop and u need to make changes to the display in the control panel...
Control Panel/Display/Setting tab/Advanced/Monitor or Display Tab...there u will get the choice to send the signal to either the monitor or laptop display...
chose and freez the choice....

Depending on your operating system go to Control Panel of Windows and find the Power Options section.
There should be a setting there to change how long to waite before the monitor sleeps.

reduce the resolution to a bit lower and the refresh rate to a nominal 60hz and things should get back to normal

my hunch is u r using a slightly high resolution and refresh rates

but before that try the buttons on the monitor to see if expanding the image sideways or top and bottom would help initially

find the Horizontal Output located from side on fly back make a replace and transistor IRF630A or 630B

The refresh rate can be configured in Windows in the display properties. It does require that your monitor has been identified or configured, otherwise it can limit the refresh rate.
You can overrule the setting to not limit the refresh rate to compatible devices only, but be careful to not configure it too high as it can break your monitor!

Not a solution at all, but I'll post that I have a NEC MultiSync FE700 monitor that I purchased back in 2001, and have I been using the monitor since that time. Lately the monitor has been showing signs of 'acting up'. I read on the Internet that CRT monitors generally have a working life of about six years. It may be, depending on years of use, that the monitors are just reaching the end of their life.

as it is a trinitron tube, this two lines are there on each tube, it is nothing to worry about. it is like this, get used to it

I thins the trinitron core is demaged..it also can be the cable which connects it to the video card..trey to check this one..if not..sorry for your old great monitor...
