Surely the camera has A/V sockets for A/V leads to be connected to your tvs A/V sockets? If it is a digital camera you should only have to connect it up via USB cable or transfer the media in it to something that can be read by the tv, such as a PC.
If your camera is mini dv then you must clean the upper drum FIRSTLY BY PUT THE TAPE IN AND PRESS FW FOR TEN SECONDS ...If problem still on picture try by using a special cleaning tape but if you can't find one online you should try a nearest service.Or if you want to try it you need a special tool <<plastic stick with leather stripe>> and an amount of pure alcohol>>.Attention!!! NEVER USE COTTON SWABS...THE SMALL HAIR OF FABRIC COULD DESTROY HEADS!!!better try with special sticks including leather stripes at the edge. The best thing to do is buy a head cleaning tape online!!!
How to clean video camera heads quick fix guide
"Any tips on how to get tape out without ruining it?"
By it, do you mean the tape or the camcorder?
The camcorder requires either the AC adapter or a 3.7 volt battery to work.
With some patience, you can probably find either for sale in "the usual places" or you can go to your neighborhood camcorder repair shop and ask them to open it for you.
Not sure if that camera works just with a power adapter, some of them need the battery. If you look on Ebay you may find both. If you get them and the camera works ok then you will need a video capture card or USB video capture adapter to connect the camera to the PC. Then you will need to know what type of output lead you need from the camera to the video card/adapter. Usually with older cameras it will have a socket for a lead to allow for showing on TV. It should have the red/yellow/white RCA/Phono connectors on one end and the plug for the camera on the other. Then you will need video capture software. It may come supplied with the capture device.
Do a hard reset to this set and check. To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. This procedure will make it a hard reset.
If it do not help you; the fault is with its main board. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service centre.
