You should have the driver on the cdrom that came with the cam, as it may well be hidden within the software if you have'nt installed it. But if the problem continues, uninstal the current drivers in add/remove programmes and re install and add your cam to a different usb port than before, although i would of thought firewire connection would be more suitable for speedier transfers.

You may be able to find the PC Connect cable for your Sharp Camcorder Model VL-SD2OU at an electronics store or online retailer that specializes in video and camera equipment.
