Samsung SC-L810 Camcorder Questions & Answers
When playing recorded tape, there
Sounds like the sound head is slightly out of adjustment, and perhaps the heads need to be cleaned. The unit will have to be serviced. You can take it into a local tv or camera repair shop and see what it would cost. Or you can contact Samsung for a close, authorized repair center:

Get an estimate before having it repaired- it can cost a bit.
Good luck, and hope this helps.
I can't play back tapes
It's not your recorder, it's the different formats other cams are using. Your's is one of the higher end units vs the "Ebay specials"

I had a similar problem with a Cannon Optura PI and had to send it in. It was better, but I still have problems on occasion. If your intent is to transfer all the tapes to media, I would suggest purchasing Toshiba's DVD Video Recorder/Video Cassette Recorder. Model: DVR620KU.
I use a VHS-C Cassette Adapter to play my VHS-C tapes in and the dubbed them to a DVD. Works great. Unfortunately, there is no 8mm/VHS Adapters, since 8mm, Hi8, miniDV are different formats with different technical
characteristics than VHS. These formats were never developed with the
intention to be mechanically compatible with past or current VHS
technology. Your best bet would to borrow a HI-8 Camcorder and then dub your tapes to DVD's using the Toshiba machine.
Here is a link to the Toshiba machine.

The L.emg is flashing and
The L.emg indicates that there is a problem with the tape rollers of the camcorder and the protection circuitry has kicked in to prevent damage to your tape. To fix this problem, turn off the camcorder and remove the battery, wait for around 2-3min and put the battery back in. Turn on the camcorder and try to eject the tape.
Let me know if it worked,
Sai.
PROTECTION flashing on lcd screen
there should be a little tab on the tape that can be moved (the one on my tape is red) if it is closed it stops the tape from being able to record anything and if it is open you should not see the protection on the screen
Camcorder problems
wow this is an old post...but mine used to do that back when I had a charger for it haha...I tightened up the video tape and make sure the tape didnt have wrinkles in it too...and it seemed to alleviate the problem if not for one recording...the stop and go recording though thats when this emergency eject happened to me...but was resolved with my just turning the wheels in the tape to tighten the tention...of course it sometimes didn't work cause I didnt get it tight enough you just gotta play with it...if all else fails send it to the shop though...

Camera does not record sound
have you tried hooking your camera up to your tv with the cord it came with and try to see if it has sound that way? maybe the speakers are blown...and if its not the same recorder it was recorded with sound maybe distorted or and even picture can be too so thats no sure way to know if it worked or not...If your camera is or was new guess its not new anymore its been over a year now since you posted it...but I would of taken it back to the store I bought it from and said hey this dont work fix it or replace it thanks...but since this is so far out I would try hooking it up through the tv and make sure you have the cords hooked up properly to your hookups on your tv or vcr whichever you run it through...and the right channel to view and hear the video...
Another thing I would try is through the menu try to find a setting for sound maybe you had it on something like silent movie type or something...
Thats all I thought of hope it helps.
Sincerely,
Rabeka Jo
