How to transfer videos to my pc

I assume you mean videos you've recorded on the MV700i? You need a FireWire card for your PC.
http://www.firewire-1394.com/
But most computer shops will sell them. The camcorder - from memory - comes with a FireWire cable. The "small end" plugs into your camcorder - and the "big end" into your new FireWire PC port.
Then you just need Windows Movie Maker to do the job. You can download to the PC in AVI format if you wish - but for most purposes use "Other settings" -> "Video for local playback (2.1 Mbps)"

How do i get the casette out of the canon mv700i ? i see a push button on the casette but it doesnt work.

You may need to have a charged battery pack attached to the camcorder (or use the mains power lead, if applicable), so that the camcorder has power to open the cassette door. You may even need to turn the camcorder on. These are safety refinements so that the eject button does not accidentally open the door, leading to possible loss of cassette or damage to the camcorder itself.

No picture and white horizontal bars on screen

This is most likely caused by a damaged or misaligned video drum and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

I need to copy videos

You need a cable that is called by many names- Firewire, DV, IEEE 1394, and Sony call it i.Link. Many names for the same thing, but they are mostly just one type, with a small plug for the camera end and a larger one to fit the PC. The easiest way to get the right cable is to search Amazon for "canon mv700i firewire". I found a couple right away for less than $10.

I have a Canon mv700i

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be serviced by a qualified service technician.

Image wont come up on screen and its flashing me

No. The power converter inside the camera is damaged some how. It says the battery needs charging because power cannot get to the main circuit - it needs to be taken apart and isolate the crack or open contacts.

I have a Canon MV

Most PCs have USB ports, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. You could fit an add-on Firewire interface card to a desktop PC, but not to a laptop.

My canon mv700i will not power up i try to charge

The first step is to ensure you have a good battery, and a full charge on it. If the battery is bad, or has a shorted cell, the unit will not power up. Second thing to check is that the battery's contacts, and also the contacts inside the camcorder, are clean, and not oxidized. You can clean them with a qtip and alcohol. The next thing to suspect is the on/off switch. It could be faulty. The only way to check it is to disassemble the camera, and use an ohmmeter across its terminals. This can be quite a task, and you might want to have it serviced, at this point. If you do choose to have it serviced, get an estimate first. Often, the cost of repair comes close to or exceeds replacement cost of a new one. Of course, other problems can cause this, and they're more serious, and costly to repair.
Here is a good blog to read for this problem, it covers various scenarios.

Good luck, and hope this helps.

Replay heads not playing back

Have you used the same tapes over and over again? If so then reclean your heads and see if things work with a brand new tape. If this IS the case then I don't think what's on the original tapes will be salvagable.

Camcorder will playback ,but shows no image when recording

Can you make it go while attached to a Power Adapter ? and with battery OUT, try that first. IF it works, buy a new battery for that model. Batteries can go so flat they cannot be charged, without special equipment, and even then they may not resurrect. funnily enough, leaving things without current running through them, or powering up,every few weeks, etc, can often cause a problem, strange huh?
