If you are certain it has a LAN card, you can check the Device Manager, as it should show up under the network devices group. If not there, than most likely the driver for the network card is missing.
You can download that from the PC manufacturer, or use a driver finder program to locate it.

If you are not able to boot from CD or DVD you can use portable DVD readers to boot your note book .

acer laptops differ with every model but it will be in one of two places. first place to look is under all the removable covers on the bottom of the laptop. if you can't see it after doing this then you will have to take the keyboard off and it will be under there. the screws for removing the keyboard are marked on the under side of the laptop. hope you get it replaced and every thing will be ok. please let me knoe how you get on.

I found out in Google that this tablet has Windows 8 on it. You can install Facebook on it by going to the "Microsoft Store". If it didn't install, check if your operating system is 8.1 Let me know if that helps.
