Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Os x 10.5
I have not been able to find any full retail versions from apple. I have found them on ebay and amazon. They are expensive and I do not have any more good disks with it. I found that the best os for g4 ppc macs is 10.4.11 but 10.5 will work on G4 867 and faster. I did not get much happiness from 10.5 on any G4.
So the rule of thumb I use is, 10.4 on G4 and 10.5 on G5 and up

Need OSX 10.5 start up disk
You can find it to download on Youtube,
But, if you are just trying to fix something, I would try the FREE utility AppleJack.
AppleJack is a user friendly troubleshooting assistant for Mac OS X. With AppleJack you can troubleshoot a computer even if you can't load the GUI, or don't have a startup CD handy. AppleJack runs in Single User Mode and is menu-based for ease of use.
You can download it for free and use it for free from:

All the best to you,

Os x 10.0.3 password and user reset

That's a very early version of OS X. I'm impressed that you are still using it.

To reset the Open Firmware password, you should be able to do the following:

- Turn off the computer.
- Locate the Command, Option, P and R keys.
- Turn on the computer, then press and hold those four keys before the gray screen appears.
- Hold the keys down until the computer starts and you hear the start-up sound the second time.
- Release the keys

The PRAM and NVRAM will have been re-set to their default values. You may need to re-enter some of the set-up information you previously entered into the computer.

If you merely wish to re-set the password, and not re-set the PRAM and NVRAM, try booting from the installation disk. After selecting the language, go to the "Utilities" menu and select the "Firmware Password Utility." You will need to enter the current password, after which you can change it or delete it, either by selecting "Remove Password" or leaving the new password fields blank.

I can not update my mac to 10.9
Hard to say without knowing exactly what Mac you have and what specs, but most likely reason would be your system doesn't meet the requirements (From Apple support site) - To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
- iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
- MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
- MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
- MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
- Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
- Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
- Xserve (Early 2009)
Your Mac also needs:
- OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
- 2 GB or more of memory
- 8 GB or more of available space
