Miele 24 in. G892SCU Plus Built-in Dishwasher Questions & Answers
WON'T TURN ON. PLUGGED IN
Unplug the washer and get a short HD extension cord and plug in to another KNOWN good (has power) outlet. Or plug in a small appliance where the washer was plugged in and see if it works. Designated outlet for washer could be defective. Never work on electrical devices until you have the correct breaker switched OFF. Good luck, best regards.
I have a G 892 SCU Plus dishwasher and the intake
I removed filter basket and under it there was a small chrome rod prodruding horizontally by about 3cm. I pushed this in and restarted the machine. Although the light flashed when I first switched on it went out when I started the prograamme. It is working fine now.
No power. No lights on panel. Won't turn on
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. The issue is with the control
panel going bad and should be replaced. However, before replacing the control
panel try to blow some air with the help of hair dryer, if still it’s not
resolved then replace the control panel. Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further
assistance.
Thanks

I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

Intake/drain light flashes and the dishwasher
hi,
this is a general fault light which could mean anything without a Miele Technician coming out and connecting a laptop to the unit. However most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage. Also check the non return valve under the filter and make sure the drain pump can turn freely.
Hope this helps.
Only Upper basket and cutlery basket wash
got a bargain here ,a miele ?? the rolls royce of machines ,cant say i have repaired one of these myself but if no water from bottom spinner then i am sure it could be the programmer like you suspect and a solonoid operated valve ,most likely fault is the programmer so by pass the valve and just use the ,main wash and never mind about the top only cycle .If it is the programmer then no doubt it would cost more than a new cheap machine so the previous owner sold it ,like a second hand car if it plays up put it in auction
Drain not draining
Elimination Of Problems From Most To Least Likely:
1. Connection from discharge hose to drain pipe is blocked/corroded.
a) Loosen the gear clamp (5/16" Nut Driver/Phillips/Standard) holding the discharge hose to the barbed drain fitting.
b) Check that the barbed fitting is not blocked by poking at the opening wth a screwdriver.
c) If the barbed connection is Galvanzied and it has gotten heavily corroded, replacement of that fitting is recommended.
2. Discharge hose is blocked/kinked from dishwasher to drain connection.
a) After 1b), place discharge end of hose into a bucket and run the dishwasher through a cycle.
b) If flow is poor, examine hose for kinking or parts (such as couplings) that may have corroded shut. Removing front panel and using a flashlight will be required for this (1/4" nut driver/phillips) If such corrosion found, 1c).
c) If hose and fittings are ok, there may be an inline filter whose screen is clogged or a filter screen where the dishwasher ties into it's discharge line.
3. Pump has failed internally . Usually held in place by large squeeze clamps, screws, gear clamps. Will most likely require removal of dishwasher from alcove to repair. Any reputable dealer should stock parts. i.e. Kenmore => Sears
N.B. May be under warranty - check. May be cheaper just to get another dishwasher at this point, especially if the dishwasher is more than 10 years old.
G 892 intake light on
Reset the program by holding down the start button. It will be blinking. Then try the same wash selection and start it. If you wired correctly the drain pump will run 30 seconds. If the intake light comes on in 5 seconds and the drain pump is still running then you have a leak. Miele dishwashers have a safety system that catches water and triggers the alert. Ifthis is the case, there's nothing you can do but get a repair person to pull the machine out and find the leak. If the pump does drain only 30 seconds, then it will stop the pump and let water in. If it fills okay then it will circulate the water and if you haven't oversudsed it [ Energy Star machines use much less water and therefore make much more suds if you fill up the dispenser too high with detergent ] the suds will not trip the pressure switch. Otherwise it will start to heat the water. If the intake light comes on again it's important to know when it does. The computer inside evaluates 100's of steps. The Techs at Miele will need to run it with you on the phone. They have scripted access to the electronic memory and you participate to find the information. They can determine if you can fix it or not.
Inlet/drain light has come on
I haven't worked on your model. However in general you first need to go through the user manual checks to make certain you've not got a silly. Follow their safety instructions. Manuals are available on their websites e.g. http://www.miele.com/manuals/display_manuals.aspx?bhcp=1
Check the drain pump and non return valve are OK and not blocked.
Check the inlet pipe strainer is clear, and if necessary clean it and descale it.
Check you've got water coming out of the outlet on the wall (carefully, its wet - make certain it doesn't go on the electrics)
Test the fixed drain and hose if the machine is empty by putting some water in it and then turning it on - it should drain in my experience.
If all the above is OK, its possible that the machine has leaked into the bottom tray. You'd need to shut off and disconnect the electricity then open up the bottom compartment of the machine - often a plate on the front behind the kickboard trim. If it has got water in, I'd mop it out and then put it back together. i'd then try running the machine. If it worked in that state I'd bother to replace the leaking seals e.g. on a pump shaft.
Good luck with yours.
rupertvdP,
Dishes not dry at end of cycle
check to see if your jet dry dispenser is empty and on some of them you can turn them up higher its important to use a rinse agent back when everyone was trying to cut down on energy use the only way to to it was to cut back on drying time so they came up with jet dry which creates a sheeting action and causes most of the water to run off before the drying cycle
MY G892SCUPLUS MIELO DISHWASHER LIGHTS AND CYCLES ARE STUCK.
The rinse aid light means you are out of rinse aid. The salt light means you have to add salt to your built in water softener. If the drain/intake light is on, that is when you have a problem. It will flash when there is a problem. You have to count the flashes and that will tell you what the error is.

Water drainage
sounds like you're dealing with a pressure problem...from the pump or the circulation channels.
Intake Drain Light
My Miele Incognito dishwasher kept getting an error with intake/drain light. The light flashed 5 times. Phoned Miele Technical Support to investigate the problem. The problem is that a seal in the bottom of the dishwasher has failed and there was water in the motor pan. Currently, $175 service charge for the technician to come look at it.
I don't want to spend $175+ to have them replace a 75 cent rubber gasket that I could replace on my own.
Despenser cup - Kenmore dish washer
hi
the dispenser will always open when the washer goes through it's regular cycle. I would recommend to only use powdered soap, that is what the washer was designed to work best with.
