I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... About the use of salt depending on water hardness, there is a very good explanation on page 11 the manual of the features available in this dishwasher to check the hardness of water and when to use salt.

Morton are a reputable company providing different type so salts. You should check out this site and contact them if necessary.

About the door springs, here are a few things you can do including making sure the dishwasher is level as per the installation instructions. Try page 28 of this instruction. (It is for a different model but should indicate what you need). If the adjustment is not adequate then you may need to contact Miele as the panel may be too heavy.

Water intake fault: Heater pressure switch
Cause:
Heater pressure switch B1/13 defective.
Remedy:
1. Check the heater pressure switch.
2. Check the connection plug and wiring harness.
3. Replace the heater pressure switch, if necessary.
Cause:
Circulation pump inoperative. Circulation pressure too low (no pressure at
heater pressure switch). Pump may be blocked by foreign objects.
Remedy:
1. Check the circulation pump for foreign objects.
2. Check the circulation pump capacitor.

this fault means low pump pressure in the circulation pump due to foreign particles jamming up the pump. you would need to remove the unit and tip it on it's side and remove the base plate and the pump and clear the blockage.

best to call your local Miele service agent or Miele office as the price will differ depending serial number and the county you live in with the exchange rates etc

I have just had the same issue. It actually turned out to be a very simple fix. The water inlet pipe has a very small copper filter that must have blocked up with age. I simply removed the filter and replaced it with a new one off a washing machine and the problem was instantly solved.

On that model to save water and energy water is sent to bottom and middle spray arms alternately. This is done via a shutter in the circulation motor. F84 mean this shutter is jammed,Most likely with debris,But is possible motor is faulty

Hi, the most likely cause is the waterproof system faulty. Which is the large grey box connected to your water supply.It's basically two water valves in series. The appliance is timed fill, if you increase the fill time this might help.The details can be found in the instruction book.Also disconnect water proof system and check water pressure.

The water valve on Miele dishwashers is built into the end of the water line where it hooks into your plumbing(in that box-looking assembly) Your best bet is to call Miele USA, I have had very good luck with their customer support system, they can usually diagnose your problem right over the phone.

The error F14 in your dishwasher is due to water intake fault with heater or circulation pump, or something like that. The circulation pump would have been clogged. Try to clear it and your problem will get fixed

Water pressure too low. Possible plumbing issue, hose kinked or flow meter faulty

i thnk it showing water hardness more indication.

1)pls check whether any pump is there to circulate salt inside the machine(check pump working)
2)check the water pressure.

You might be able to reach if you take the sides off. Elect disconnect, open door, remove 2 cross head screws recessed at top of where door closes, push top cover backwards an inch then lift off. remove 2 screws at top of each side panel then the lower ones (4 a side) panels then lift off and you can see right across the bottom of the 'sump' including the float switch assembly. (which has no effect on switching on the inlet/oulet lamp on my d/washer.)
