There is an ABS key on the left of the first row of keys, but no "APPS".

Some people do not care much about the packaging and throw it. From what I know about these calculators, in North America they ship in a clam shell (plastic wrap) and not a box. I do not believe it proves anything. Unless you have a written document with a serial number. But these calculators do not have a serial number. Go buy yourself a calculator and take better care of it.

I am sorry to disappoint you. I looked on the back of two different Casio Calculators and there is nothing that could be considered a Serial Number (Unique Identification number). If you had a serial number on a bill of sale or receipt and find the calculator with the same serial number you could claim it is your. But there is no such a number for this class of calculators. Get yourself another one and take better care of it. How do you know the person you accuse of stealing your calculator has not bought one too?

In what context? In the unit conversions it's "inches." In the key markings, if you mean "ln" (lowercase 'ell' not capital 'eye') then it's "natural logarithm."

the function buttons are labeled + and -
to add put in the number then press the + button then put in the next number and + and son for all the numbers you are adding up
to subtract put in a number then press the- button ,then put in the next number and press the - button and so on
to do a combination calculation put in a number then press the + button and so on until you come to a number that you want to subtract in which case you put in that number then press the - button and if the next number is to be added ,put the number in and press the + button
