I think the problem with this equation comes when x = 0. At this point, it is undefined. Thus, it is a horizontal line y=-2, except when x=0. This is normally signified by putting an open circle when x=0. I hope I answered you question. If not, repost. Good luck, Paul

Use the cosine, sine, and tangent buttons on your calculator and invert them with x ^ -1 key. For example, csc = 1/sin. So for csc 30 degrees, so sin 30 degrees, then hit the x^-1 key. Good luck. Paul

There are several ways to find the cube root of a number on a calculator. On this calculator, we can use the nth root button, by using the yellow shift button with the ^ key. Another way to do this is just to use the ^ key. For example, the cube root of 8 is performed by the following key sequence: 8, shift, ^, 3. Another sequence is: 8 ^ (1/3) Good luck. Paul

There are two separate issues here. The "D" at the top of the screen indicates that the angular mode is set to degrees. You can change the mode by pressing the MODE key repeatedly until you get to the "Deg Rad Gra" screen and then choosing one of them, but no matter which one you choose you'll get a letter at the top of the screen reminding you of the current mode. To change the way numbers are displayed, press the MODE key repeatedly until you get to the "Fix Sci Norm" screen and then choosing one of them. You can choose Fix and then press a digit specifying the number of digits after the decimal point, or choose one of the Norm modes and let the calculator show all nonzero digits after the decimal point. The fx-82MS does not have any built-in functions for calculating the normal probability distribution or its related values. You can calculate it using the defining function or any of a large number of approximations. Alternatively you can look up the values in a table. Some advanced calculators have the functions built in, and programmable calculators can be programmed to give them. Sadly the fx-82MS is neither. Most likely you set the angle unit to degree. As long as you do not calculate trigonometric ratios you won't get incorrect results. Switch the angle mode to radian if that is what your calculations require.
