Try cleaning the carburetor and blow or clean jets. Then new mix and clean fuel. Start up, and probably set the idling to a little faster to start then adjust for good idle speed so it won't stall. Hope this may help.

The oil ratio is not adjusted to the engine it is the formulation of the oil. You mix your oil the way the bottle states. I have been working on 2 cycle engines since the 70's at a motorcycle, ATV and lawn & garden dealership. If you have doubts about a 50:1 oil do like I do and put 8/10ths of a gallon of gas in you jug and use a bottle of oil for a gallon and mix.

16 to 1 There is a universal synthetic oil that works well for most all 2 cycle engines and causes less problems than standard 2 cycle oil. Also try rec 90 or rec 89 gasoline it contains no alcohol and will stay stable longer.
