only transport a fridge or freezer on it's side if the upright transport is NOT an option.
any chiller using compressed liquid/gas and placed on it's side should be left for 24 hours to settle before powering at the mains, this will allow the coolant time to sink where it should be and prevent the pump (& chiller) from failing.
It is not a good idea to lay it on it's side. However it can be done and if you do it, the secret is when you get to where you are going stand it upright and do not plug it in for at least 24 hours. That gives the oil a chance to go back down where it belongs.Waiting 48 would be even better. Hope this helps.

this sounds like a control board circuit problem..but first remove perishables and defrost freezer ..turn off or un plug..leave refr door closed..freezer door open..if you have lots of water while defrosting you almost cirtainly have froozen the evap coils solid..freezer cannot work like this..after defrost..plug in and see if temperature returns to normal..if it does it won't last indefinately..your probably have a bad defrost timer and/or evap heater gone bad
