Question edited for clarity. Question moved to a HP Computer category. Normally an overheating issue. On a laptop, make sure it is on a hard surface and not on lap, bed or cushion. Vacuum or blow out the vents. On a desktop, remove the case, clean all the vents, make sure the fan spins and clean all the dust and fluff from the heatsink and fan with a clean 1" paint brush and vacuum or compressed air or preferably both..
