How i can recover my

For computers manufactured and sold in 2006 or later, based on the Microsoft licensing agreement, you can create a personal recovery disc to restore the computer to its original operating system. If you cannot create a set of recovery discs, you might be able to order a set of replacement discs from HP. HP maintains an inventory of replacement recovery discs for several years after the product has been released. However, because of licensing restrictions, HP is only able to provide these recovery discs for a limited time. If the computer is several years past its warranty period, HP might not be able to supply replacement discs for your computer. If this is the case, you can install a new operating system that meets the minimum system requirements of your computer, or, alternatively, upgrade your computer hardware.

My HP Pavilion Dv 5000

Of the two LEDs at the left front of the notebook, if the left-most one is blinking, then the notebook is in standby. If the left-most one is off and the one to the right of it is blinking, then the notebook is in a low battery condition and quite likely the notebook had initiated hibernation. If you had the AC adapter plugged-in for some time and the low-battery condition persists, then likely the adapter has failed. Normally you would just press the power button to restore from hibernation but if the system had initiated hibernation due to a critical low-battery condition, the system may not respond unless you have inserted a fully-charged battery pack. Here is an excerpt from page 38 (Chapter 3 Power) of the HP Pavilion DV5000 User Manual....

*If the system initiated hibernation because of a critical low-battery condition, connect external power or insert a

charged battery pack before you press the power button. (The system may not respond if the discharged battery pack
is the only power source.)

There should be 5 grey buttons at the top of your keyboard and just below your monitor. On the right there should be two with a small speaker icon, one with an X or an \ through it. Press the one with the speaker icon that has the ))) symbols coming from it to turn it back on.

If this doesn't work you should have a speaker icon in the bottom right corner of your desktop screen which may have a red X on it. Right click this and select volume control options and make sure that the "Mute" boxes are not checked off and the volume levels are turned up as you desire.

Hi I have a problem of

Your laptop is probably outputting the video signal to the wrong monitor. When the screen goes black, try pressing the function key to switch the video back to the laptop screen. Refer to your laptop's manual on what key to press. Usually it is the Fn key and F4 at the same time for HP laptops.

Since I upgraded my OS

Hello there, This is a common problem when you upgrade the OS of a PC to a higher OS. The driver for that feature has not been installed on your PC. Often times the previous driver does not support the new OS so the scroll function will not work.
What you need to do is locate the driver for that particular feature which in most PC's are refered to as the synaptics pointing device. Download this from HP driver support.
When you open the site click on drivers and software then input your model number select from the list the PC which most appropriately describes your unit next select your OS to be windows XP and from the list select "Driver-Keyboard, mouse and input devices" then select "touchpad pointing device driver" and download the software.
After downloading the software right click on it and select properties in the window that pops up select compatibility and when you select that tick on run this program in compatibility mode for from the drop down list select Microsoft windows XP and click apply at the bottom of the page. then click on OK. after doing this install the driver which was downloaded and restart the PC. At this point the problem should be solved and the scroll on the pad should function properly.
Hope this solution has been helpful?
Thank you for visiting FixYa.

My sons hp laptop loads

Hello.

Either you have an operating system problem or memory issue.

First, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly when powering on). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date. Follow the process.

If still a problem, disconnect all cables. Be certain to dispel static electricity by touching metal. Remove the battery and memory cover. Try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).

Hope this helps.

I am having trouble connecting

From the HP website:

The power to the wireless network and bluetooth devices is controlled by a switch or button on most computers. It is possible to accidentally bump the button and turn off the wireless service. c02230159.jpg On most computers, there is an LED light that glows blue when the wireless device is turned on and enabled, and glows orange when off or disabled. Some newer models use different a different color scheme. To turn on and enable the wireless device, do the following:
  1. To turn on the wireless device, simply move the switch to the on position. On some computers, the switch is actually a touch point on the panel above the keyboard.
  2. To enable the wireless device, right-click the HP Wireless Assistant (disabled) icon c02228164.gif and select Open Wireless Assistant . Click Turn On . The HP Wireless Assistant (enabled) icon c02228163.gif will display.

I receive a blue screen

Check if you installed something before this happens. Try to uninstall it or removed the device. You may also need the recovery disc which came with the laptop or make one or borrow one as long as when the key is asked you use the one for the laptop (normally found in the sticker on the laptop). Other than that you may need to re-install the operating system.
