I am having trouble connecting

From the HP website:

The power to the wireless network and bluetooth devices is controlled by a switch or button on most computers. It is possible to accidentally bump the button and turn off the wireless service. c02230159.jpg On most computers, there is an LED light that glows blue when the wireless device is turned on and enabled, and glows orange when off or disabled. Some newer models use different a different color scheme. To turn on and enable the wireless device, do the following:
  1. To turn on the wireless device, simply move the switch to the on position. On some computers, the switch is actually a touch point on the panel above the keyboard.
  2. To enable the wireless device, right-click the HP Wireless Assistant (disabled) icon c02228164.gif and select Open Wireless Assistant . Click Turn On . The HP Wireless Assistant (enabled) icon c02228163.gif will display.

I have a dv4000 (dv4272us)

You should be able to disable the touchpad from the CONTROL PANEL - MOUSE options.

Go to Control Panel, click Mouse, click the big pointer, click Device Select, look under Touch Pad, click the blank "dot" next to Disable, also checkmark the box next to Disable touchpad.

Click APPLY and OK, then Restart your computer if necessary.

Hello, i have hp pavillion

This is a very common problem & it affects the Hp dv2000 , dv4000 , dv6000 , dv9000 series of laptops . In almost all cases this is caused by the video card overheating . There are 2 options , one is replace the motherboard ( expensive ) , the other is performing a " reflow " similar to how xbox 360's & ps3's are repaired . After the " reflow " you should replace the thermal paste with Arctic Silver #5 & I clean out the heatsink & fan before replacing them . Good Luck if you attempt the 2nd solution , I have done it about 20 times so far only 1 failure .

How to restore hp pavilion

The way to restore most PCs to factory settings is to reinstall Windows. First, MAKE SURE you have the Windows disc that came with your computer and the drivers/utilities disc that came with it.

To start restoring, put the Windows disc in that came with your computer, and run it. Find the option to install/reinstall Windows, and select it (you may have to boot from the disc, which can be done by changing the boot order in BIOS settings). Follow the instructions Windows Setup gives you.

After you're done with that, don't freak out if the sound, wireless, touchpad, etc. isn't working. Insert the drivers/utilities disc now and install all the drivers that are on it onto your laptop.

You are now done with the restore process!

HP Pavillion dv400. Laptop turns on for about 20

its either over heating or a virus causing it. if its heat try propping the laptop up off of the surface (the intake vent is located on the bottom) to increase airflow also overheating could of caused a hardware failure but that's highly unlikely. if a virus caused it you would know because to have a virus do that you would notice the drastic performance issues. and your pc acting like it haves "a mind of its own" from time to time [side notes: laptops have very poor cooling systems in general having a laptop sitting on your lap or your bed if not recommended actually its frowned upon and your cooling fan may have also gave out check to see if the output vent is blowing any type of air at all] most computers have a function where the system powers off to save the CPU from damage which its very expensive to replace

My volume scroll does not work on hp laptop?

If you are talking about the quick volume buttons above the keyboard then it could be two things. first the cable that goes from the mother board to the control is bad or the volume control part under the plastic has gone bad. If it is any of these then the buttons should have stopped lighting up blue. If they have stayed lit up then it is a software problem.

Unable to view pc on tv

With the dv4000, you have the option of using the VGA output (blue connector/port on the side of the laptop), or the S-video output (round connector/port next to the VGA port). Once you have the cable plugged in to the laptop and the TV, press Fn + F7to switch from the laptop screen to the external monitor.

I hope this helps you.

Good day.
Defective LCD monitor circuitry is the cause of your problem. Proceed to your local laptop service center for your screen to be repaired. There are some cases that there are loose or cold sold. The worst is that you have to replace the entire LCD monitor.
Good luck.

How do i turn off the touhpad function?

Alan, Here is how you could turn off the touch pad through windows settings. Also, note that this version of HP Pavilion's sometimes have driver issues that cause this feature not to be applied. In turn a driver update would help fix that and allow you to disable the touchpad.

Windows Settings:

1) Click Start - Control Panel - Mouse - Tapping - UnCheck the 'Tapping' Box - Then Click "Okay"

Windows Drivers:

1) HP Driver Page, but you will note there are several model listed.

2) Select the one that matches your system that on the bottom of your laptop. It should have a more specific model to choose from.

3) Select Your Operating System

4) Under the Category of "
Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices" download the "Touchpad Point Device Driver".

5) Follow the install instructions, and it maybe self installing. (A system restart maybe needed)

I hope that address your question, and best of luck to you!
