My DeskJet 712C will not print anything when I try printing in color, it will, however, print with just black when I set it to do so. How do I get it to print in color, too?

Blocked print head nozzles Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles. Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles. After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. Also try - Removing the print head, run it under hot water for 2 mins, then let soak for 10 min. then used a can of compressed air to dry thoroughly. It may fix the blocked nozzles. A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

My HP DeskJet 712c InkJet

Hello.

Give this a try:

1. Power off your printer
2. Remove and reinsert the cartridges. You should hear a "click" when properly seated.
3. Power on printer.
4. If light is out, print a test page for realignment.

Note: Be certain that the tab is removed from the cartridges and you are using "genuine" HP cartridges.

  • Connectivity :
    • USB: Ensures that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
    • Network: Ensures that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly. If the tool detects a network connectivity problem, you will be prompted to run the HP Network Diagnostic Utility for better results.
  • Spooler : Automatically restarts the print spooler, which sends print jobs from the computer to the product, if it has been stopped.
  • Online status : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
  • Device manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
  • Print queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
  • Port : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
  • Driver : Checks for alternate-driver settings.
  • Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
  • Default printer : Checks the default printer setting and prompts to select the HP product as default (optional).

My inkjet printer is not feeding paper properly.

I would check for little bits of paper stuck on the roller. Did you have a paper jam prior to this problem? Using a good flash light, look for, and remove any little pieces that you might find.

My hp 712c printer prints only the pink band when

The cause is either:
* clogged ink-jets not allowing yellow & blue ink to move from the ink-cartridge onto the paper;
* busted electronics inside the printer, causing the ink-jets to not "spray" at all.

Use the software to try a "print-head-cleaning" cycle.
If that fails to improve things, it's time to replace the printer.

Information in Headers and Footers come from whatever program you are printing from, not from the printer. Go into whatever program you print from and make the changes.

My friend has an HP 712C printer that I gave him.

According to HP's Website ...

"The driver solution for this product is included in your Windows XP operating system and is already on your computer. There is no need to download anything. Follow the steps below to quickly and easily get your product working with Windows XP."

But the info on how to get it to work if having issues if also found on that page.

Every time I try to print something it says I

I have had this problem before using Windows XP. I disconnected the printer and went to my computer then printer and faxes and deleted all the icons. I re-connected the printer and one printer popped up. I right clicked and set as default. It should say "ready" next to it. Deleting the Icon does not delete the printer driver. Hope this helps.

Trying to install HP Deskjet 712c on computer with windows xp

You shouldn't need any software to print to this printer under XP, just let XP find the best or closest match to your printer and install it. It might be a Deskjet 700 or something but it'll work as a printer. The old software was probably for Windows 98.
