May i know the Operating system of the computer so i can give exact instruction for installing.

look into the internet for download as it is free. You can look up HP download that it should be no problem this time. Try that and see for yourself. I did mine with HP on window 7 - HP printer download. All is fine, smile!

For those folks who have Windows 7...
Click start from menu (bottom left of window pane),
Click "Devices and Printers",
Click on the HP printer listed,
Click "scan a document or picture"...

CALL IT DONE!!!! Gotta LOVE Windows 7...EASY!

first of all turn off the router and then turn off the printer,wait for 30seconds and then turn on the printer and check if the printer turns on and works fine..once its starts working fine then go to the EWS page of the router and then change the WPA key to WEP..that should work..if its still the same then it is a hardware issue,you need to get the printer replaced..

Try removing the printer drivers and reinstalling it.

Phone lines have 2 pairs of wires inside. usually red, green and black,yellow. It sounds lick the second pair which is the black,yellow is causing a phone short. try looking at the phone clip on the end and see if you can see the colors through the clip. then real carefully try to snip either the black or yellow. this should take care of it. good luck

On the printer press setup-->choose tools option-->under tools-->choose print a fax test page.

Find out how is the printer connected with the fax line.

Note:- Line 1 at the back of the printer should be connected directly to the wall jack of phone line.

Now Follow the instrcution below.

1. Send a one page black and white text fax to 1-888-hpfaxme (1-888-473-2963).
2. When your fax is received by the HP Test Fax Service, They will generate a return fax to you within five minutes confirming that they have received your fax. This verifies that you can both send and receive a fax with your fax machine.

If you do not receive a return fax within 5-7 minutes, there may be a problem with the setup of your fax machine. Note:-The most common cause of failure is that the fax number set in the Fax Header on the machine does not match the number of the phone line connected to the fax. Also, ensure that the fax header contains the full 10-digit telephone number of the fax machine, including the area code.

Hello, you definately need to go to the HP Support Website and Choose Drivers and Software. Then, in the First Box at the top, Choose "Automatically Scan My System" option. NOTE: Be sure to have your device connected to computer and powered on. This option allows HP to scanyour system and install any/all updated software and drivers automatically..

this can be lowered or turn of in the setup options. try hitting the setup button and follow the prompts. good luck

3.check usb cable
4.check printer driver
5.check cartridges
6.check paper
7.check document privileges 
if all are ok be more specific about your problem

Second - how is the printer connected to the computer? If you are using a USB cable, try a new USB cable and try connecting to a different port. If you have a USB hub or print server connected between the printer and the computer, try a direct connection. Scanners require bi-directional communication and are more sensitive to data loss issues than the basic printer features.

First of all check if you have 32 bit window 7operating system or 64 bit window 7 operating system. How to check this:
click start, right click computer and click properties.
Now, please use the link given below and install the driver or the patch required for the printer after choosing the operating system(window 7 32 bit or 64 bit.)

clean the cartridges.

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Disconnect power cable from All-in-One and also from wall outlet.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power cable to All-in-One and also to wall outlet.
4. Check for the functionality.

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on and wait for 20 seconds.

2. Then, press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.

Continue holding until it displays Semi Full Reset message in the front panel of the All-in-One.


1. Press Setup.
2. Press 5, then press 2. This selects Tools and then selects Align Print Cartridge. Load the alignment page face down in the document feeder tray and press OK.

Then check the functionality
