The yellow-print-cartridge
light is blinking, and the

i assume that the lines are orizontal not vertical? right? if they are vertical, check imaging unit (drum), you can note the same lines on it plastic belt on the same position. if are orizontal it can be: drum: rotate manually the belt (whitout touch it on it surface) and look if it causes the issue. drum: look at the engage gear on the left (or right) side. it can be damaged (take a look also inside the printer). normally it can cause also paper jam. the lines distance isn't always the same. transfer roller: search a service manual to see where is located. fuser: search a service manual to see where is located.

you can print out a status page by holding down the green button untill all lights flash than let go..( this will than print out a config page showing your supplies status..

Print a Configuration page, if it is grayscale, you probably installed a bad drum.
Make sure that "color" mode is selected in the program you are using or the printer driver. Check and see if "grayscale is selected.
If you are printing transparencies, they ONLY print grayscale.
Go to hp.com and download the latest drivers.

It sounds like the imaging drum to me, these are easy to change.

try a restore defaults on the printer

u better check the haftone test first,when printer starts to pict the paper,just let the printer to print paper,stop the paper before entering the fuser unit located back side,if the output is perfect,then it is the problem with the fuser assy,pls revert for further solution or query

I would recommend going back to the site and chosing a different driver.
There is a PCL 5 a PCL 6, PS drivers and some patches on the HP site.
You sometimes have to try different drivers to perform with your specific machine.
you do have a driver issue here. Sometimes it is frustraiting getting the right one, be persistant, it will work fine.

Troubleshoot the wired network connection Make sure you are using an undamaged Ethernet cable, check for a green light near the Ethernet port on the printer, and then print a report to verify the connection. Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the Ethernet cable from the router and the printer. Check the cable for damage, and then verify that it is an Ethernet cable and not a phone cable.
