Every time I try to print I am finding it starts off fine and about half way through the page it stops with the error 79.4165. I remove the two pieces of paper and re start and it says ready again only to repeat the same problem. I was wondering if anyone can suggest what to do.Thanks,Jacqueline

HiTurn the printer off and leave it asa such for 45 minutes and then turn it on.Check the fuser and make sure its properly and firmly fitted into place.This can get loose during shipment.Solved?Replace the fuser.

You need to connect the printer with a cable to the wireless router. Then you must enter the printer menu and set an IP address, subnet mask and gateway corresponding to your NAT network or switch the DHCP option on (e.g. to get them automatically from the router). I suggest you to enter them manually if you are not going to switch the printer every day. Then in Windows 7 you must go to devices and printers, select Add printer, select local prinet and choose TCP/IP port from the list. After clicking next you will be asked for the IP address of the printer, you fill the one you entered in the device menu. Next you will be asked for the printer model and you must select it from the list or show a location with the driver. Click finish and a test page will be printed. Hope this helps. Alex

Print a config page and check the IP address.
On the PC right click the 4050, go to properties, go to ports.
Make sure the IP address is the same as the printer.
Also on the rear of the printer, make sure that the green light on the JetDirect is on.
Check the config page (the 2nd page) right below the EIO X - JetDirect heading.
It should say "I/O Card Ready"

The seperation pad is worn out. order a seperation pad and tray 1 feed roller. you can usually pop out the seperation pad with a small flathead screwdriver and the new can be clicked in its place. the feed roller has a blue tab that unlocks it from the axle.

Check the the fuser. Take the back door off the printer and unscrew the 2 screws holding the fuser assembly in the printer. The fuser on the 4000 series all use a teflon sleeve that can rip and cause the type of error you are getting. You can get a replacement fuser on Ebay for about $40-60 if you do find your torn.
